Sutton continued their fine start to the National League season following relegation as Charlie Waller’s early strike helped them to a 1-0 victory at Wealdstone.

Waller pounced on a loose ball inside the box to send a looping finish into the net after 11 minutes as the visitors won for the second time in three games since dropping out of League Two.

Wealdstone suffered a third defeat of the campaign and slipped into the relegation zone but were unlucky not to steal a point late on, goalkeeper Steve Arnold producing a fine save before Micah Obiero fired over the bar with the goal at his mercy.

Steve Morison’s team climbed to third in their bid for an immediate EFl return.
