Ten-man Doncaster returned to winning ways with a narrow League Two victory over Morecambe at the Mazuma Stadium to move up to third.
An early goal from Rob Street was enough to give Grant McCann's side the win despite the fact they were reduced to 10 men after 70 minutes when Jack Senior was sent off for a crude lunge on Ged Garner as Morecambe remained second-bottom.
The visitors started the game at a tremendous pace with Street blazing the ball over from close range after just 20 seconds before making amends – three minutes later – as he headed a right-wing cross past Ryan Schofield from eight yards out.
Doncaster continued to dominate with Owen Bailey having a great chance to double their advantage just after the half-hour mark when he was found by Jamie Sterry, but saw his close-range shot blocked by substitute goalkeeper Harry Burgoyne.
Jordan Gibson wasted a golden chance to add a second for Doncaster in the second half and he was grateful to his defence for keeping out a dominant Morecambe, who laid siege on the Rovers goal but failed to test Teddy Sharman-Lowe.
