  1. Silva turning things around at Fulhampublished at 10:35 GMT

Fulham v Man City (Tues, 19.30 GMT)

    Fulham

We will hear shortly from Fulham manager Marco Silva, previewing their home Premier League game against Man City tomorrow.

Silva's side are 15th in the table and six points above the relegation zone after their fifth win of the season at the weekend against Spurs.

The victory means Fulham have won three of their last four Premier League games. Before this run, they'd lost four league games on the bounce.

Fulham have a tough visit from Man City next, but face Burnley, Nottingham Forest and West Ham through December - three teams currently below them in the league.

  2. What's the deal with 'goalkeeper timeouts'?published at 10:30 GMT

So, why was Eddie Howe asked about 'goalkeeper timeouts' earlier?

Leeds United boss Daniel Farke accused Man City goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma of feigning injury to "bend the rules" in their game at the weekend.

With City struggling to cope just before Lukas Nmecha levelled, home goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma went down to receive treatment, allowing boss Pep Guardiola to call his players to the touchline and issue fresh instructions in the two minutes play was stopped for.

"Everyone knows why he went down," Farke said after the game.

"It is not the elephant in the room. Why he went down it was obvious. It is within the rules. It is smart. If I like it? If it's within the sense of fair play? If it should be like this I will keep to myself. It is up to the authorities to find a solution.

"I ask the fourth official at this point if you want to do something. Our hands are tied.

"If we don't educate our players in football what to do in terms of fair play and sportsmanship and whatever and if we just try to bend the rules and even do a fake injury in order to do an additional team talk, it is not what I like personally. But if it is within the rules I can't complain."

    Newcastle United

That's all from Newcastle manager Eddie Howe - if you're just joining us, here's what he had to say...

    • Yoane Wissa took part in an 11 v 11 training session over the weekend as he approaches match fitness - but Sven Botman will see a specialist about his knee issue.
    • Howe has no further update on Nick Pope, after the keeper was absent from the win at Everton.
    • Striker Nick Woltemade "has a way of making things look dramatic" after he broke his scoring drought on Saturday.
    • Howe said Newcastle fans are "incredible" when asked about Spurs supporters booing goalkeeper Gigi Vicario.
    • He said there are "parallels" between midfielder Lewis Miley and fellow Newcastle academy product and England international Elliott Anderson.

Newcastle manager Eddie Howe on goalkeeper timeouts: "It happens all over the Premier League. I don't think it is something new, I think it has been happening for a long time."

  5. 'There are parallels between Miley and Anderson'published at 10:21 GMT

Newcastle v Tottenham (Tue, 20:15 GMT)

    Newcastle United

Newcastle manager Eddie Howe on Lewis Miley and trying not to lose him as they did with Elliot Anderson: “There are definite parallels between Lewis and Elliot although they have had different journeys.

"From Lewis’ perspective, I’m determined to keep him here. I’m determined for him to have the career at Newcastle that I think he can have and have the effect he can have long-term and become synonymous with the football club for many years to come.

"That’s my hope and wish, but Lewis will be the determining factor in that in terms of how much he wants to be here, how his career continues to develop, what he gives to his training and development.

"He showcased his skills really well on Saturday, what he’s capable of doing. The confidence levels needed to execute that and he delivered a really good performance.”

  6. 'I was disappointed for Nick'published at 10:15 GMT

Newcastle v Tottenham (Tue, 20:15 GMT)

    Newcastle United

Newcastle manager Eddie Howe on Nick Pope's injury: "I don't look at it as any one decision is bigger than the other. This dramatic showdown of decisions, that is not the reality.

"I was disappointed for Nick when he picked up the injury when he did and I am disappointed for us because we need him."

  7. 'The supporters have been incredible'published at 10:12 GMT

Newcastle v Tottenham (Tue, 20:15 GMT)

    Newcastle United

Newcastle manager Eddie Howe on Tottenham goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario getting abuse from his own fans: "I have said before that while the game is going on and the players are playing, the only thing I ask from the Newcastle supporters is that they encourage and support the players because it is a very tough environment at the best of times let alone when you are being criticised by your own.

"I have to say that our supporters, I can't speak highly enough of. In my time here they have been incredible in that respect. They have supported the players, they have been with them. That's all you can ask really. We are as one, we are a team. Supporters, players, staff, we are all connected. We are all fighting for the same thing and full respect to our supporters for how they have handled the players."

The PL table is very tight indeed, a snakes and ladders season. A couple of results gets you in a European position or just above the drop zone. The real test is coming up with a fixture pile up and the AFCON.

  9. 'Hall brings us unique qualities'published at 10:02 GMT

Newcastle v Tottenham (Tue, 20:15 GMT)

    Newcastle United

Newcastle manager Eddie Howe on Lewis Hall: "We tried to do that [manage his return from injury] in his early steps of coming back. It was really important we didn't thrust him into starting too many games consecutively at that point but I think the time away with England was important to get him so robustness in terms of some 11v11 action over a two week period.

"They looked after him well and he came back, I think you can see towards the end of games he is fatiguing but hopefully that will improve as we go through. There also comes a time where we have to try and get him to play the minutes we need to play him. he is such an important player. He brings us unique qualities and we want him on the pitch as often as possible. Let's see how he feels. We will always make the judgement call on the various tests we do in the build up to games."

  10. 'Hopefully this is the turning point'published at 09:59 GMT

Newcastle v Tottenham (Tue, 20:15 GMT)

    Newcastle United

Newcastle manager Eddie Howe on how important it is to back up their first away Premier League win of the season: "It is vitally important that we find the consistency we are searching for. It seems like we are yo-yoing between Champions League and Premier League and not quite able to put our foot on the floor and find that sweet spot we have been searching for all season.

"Hopefully this is the turning point for us. But every opponent we face in the Premier League is so difficult and now we face Tottenham who are a good team who have their own strengths and a team we are going to have to respect as we always do."

  11. 'I see a steady performer in Elanga'published at 09:55 GMT

Newcastle v Tottenham (Tue, 20:15 GMT)

    Newcastle United

Newcastle manager Eddie Howe on Malick Thiaw's goals against Everton: "It's an interesting one with Malick because he has ended up, if you look back at a lot of our set plays, getting his head on quite a bit. I think his movement, his aggression, his timing is really good but he hadn't put the finishing touches to that in the way that he did on Saturday.

"He took two great headers, something we work a lot on. It was great to see that work coming good for us. The importance of set play goals, it wins and losses you games. It's great to see us on the right side of it."

And on Anthony Elanga: "I think the first transition of the game right from kick-off is him almost running the length of the pitch onto a great pass from Nick [Woltemade] and almost scoring, that set the tone for us in the game so I think he can be very pleased with his contribution to the game and how he is beginning to settle into life at Newcastle. It is a big change for any player. I am seeing a level, steady performer. I think he continues to get better and better."

  12. 'Woltemade has a way of making things look dramatic'published at 09:52 GMT

Newcastle v Tottenham (Tue, 20:15 GMT)

    Newcastle United

Newcastle manager Eddie Howe on Nick Woltemade's goal against Everton: "That was one of my favourite goals of his so far. I think the finish was on but very few players would have been able to execute it in the manner that he does. He has a way of making things look dramatic and I think it was an outstanding finish.

"It was great build-up by Anthony Elanga, it's great to see him get his assist and show his pace and what he can do for us in the transition. But Nick did the rest and he did it really well."

  13. 'Physically the players have to dig deep'published at 09:49 GMT

Newcastle v Tottenham (Tue, 20:15 GMT)

    Newcastle United

Newcastle manager Eddie Howe on David Moyes' comments, saying Newcastle are the most physical team in the league: "When we are very good in that respect I think we are very difficult to play against. I think we have executed a few games this year where we haven't been that team and we are nowhere near as effective.

"The game schedule we have, fresh players on the pitch is one thing and then you have to execute the plan. Physically this year the players are going to have to dig deep because there are a lot of games but that was a big step forward against Everton."

  14. Howe on goalkeeping situationpublished at 09:45 GMT

Newcastle v Tottenham (Tue, 20:15 GMT)

    Newcastle United

Newcastle manager Eddie Howe on goalkeeper Nick Pope, who was absent from the squad for the win at Everton: "No further update from Saturday. He is probably one of a number of players that we will analyse early this week and try and get a proper diagnosis."

And on Aaron Ramsdale, who started in goal at Hill Dickinson Stadium: "I am sure he felt good returning to Newcastle as we all felt after the game, it is a feeling we haven't had very often being away from home where you've done a good job, you've complete your objective and you're focused on the next game in a positive way. He can be very pleased, it's a really good start for him."

  15. 'This is a key time'published at 09:43 GMT

Newcastle v Tottenham (Tue, 20:15 GMT)

    Newcastle United

Newcastle manager Eddie Howe on Tottenham: "That was a tough game [when we played them in the EFL Cup] and this one will be the same. We might see a change in personnel because we have had a few players back from that game but they have a strong squad. I think they have got some good players and a good manager as well so it will be a great game."

And on the importance of consistency this season: "We always felt, even during some difficult runs, that the league is very tight this year and a consistent run of victories can propel you very quickly up the league.

"We are in a better position than we were, not necessarily in terms of league position but in terms of points gap. A couple of wins and we are back to where we want to be.

"This is a really key time because what you can't do is allow yourself to become detached. We know where we want to be, we have work to do to get there and we really need a run of games where we have positive results. That is what we are looking for."

  16. Botman 'to see a specialist'published at 09:40 GMT

Newcastle v Tottenham (Tue, 20:15 GMT)

    Newcastle United

Newcastle manager Eddie Howe on injured defender Sven Botman: "Sven is going to see a specialist in the next couple of days just to get a definitive opinion on whether he needs an injection or whether he is able to rest for a few days and then resume training. So we'll wait and see."

  17. 'Wissa played in an 11 v 11 training game'published at 09:37 GMT

Newcastle v Tottenham (Tue, 20:15 GMT)

    Newcastle United

Newcastle manager Eddie Howe on team news: "No fresh injuries I believe. We will have a good look at the lads today. Positive physical performance I thought. It wasn't the biggest game in terms of load so the lads are okay."

On Yoane Wissa's fitness: "[Wissa] participated in an 11v11 training game while we were at Everton and I think he will have another one at some stage this week. We will see how close he is."

  19. Will Wissa be available?published at 09:31 GMT

Newcastle v Tottenham (Tue, 20:15 GMT)

The last time we heard an injury update from Eddie Howe was on Friday, where the Newcastle boss confirmed Yoane Wissa was back in training but he did not confirm a return date for the forward. Wissa has not played for Newcastle since signing in September because of his knee injury.

Howe will likely be giving an update on Wissa's fitness later this morning.

Everton looked poor for most of the match but that's to take nothing away from Newcastle. Away from home previously they've been the better side and still been incapable of winning. 4-1 was a dominant win, Thiaw is the biggest bargain I've seen and Wissa hasn't even played yet, promising.
