  1. It's all to play for!published at 08:16 British Summer Time

It's that time of year Martin, there is so much at stake at every level of the football pyramid.

My local side, Droylsden FC, are taking on Euxton Villa on Saturday in the North West Counties First Division North play-off final.

So a massive shout-out to every football team at every level with something big to play for.

And to those that don't, enjoy a peaceful, stress-free weekend.

Never mind FA Cup semi-finals or Premier League title parties, spare a thought for a nervous Falkirk FC supporter as they play Partick Thistle tonight to try and secure back-to-back promotions. Having squandered a healthy lead in the league, it has come down to the final two matches. Thank goodness I am working a late shift tonight, so I don't have to watch it!

  4. FA Cup or Champions League qualification - which means more?published at 08:00 British Summer Time

It's a big weekend for Nottingham Forest, Aston Villa, Crystal Palace and Manchester City, who are getting ready to play in the semi-finals of the FA Cup at Wembley.

Three of the four - Forest, Villa and City - are also chasing top-five Premier League finishes that will secure a Champions League place next season.

But what matters more - winning the FA Cup or qualifying for the Champions League?

On Saturday, Crystal Palace take on Aston Villa in the first semi-final at 17:15 BST, a match you can watch live on BBC One, iPlayer, BBC Sport website and app.

The following day Nottingham Forest face Manchester City at 16:30 for a place in the final.

While the winners of English football's showpiece final at Wembley on 17 May are guaranteed a major trophy - as well as a place in next season's Europa League - a top-five finish in the Premier League guarantees at least eight games in Europe's elite club competition.

    But which is more important?

Isn't this the best time? The build-up to a big game, when anything and everything is possible.

We are completely neutral on this page, so wish all the teams well in this weekend's FA Cup semi-finals.

It's interesting that Casey mentioned the bonus of a potential place in the Europa League next season if Crystal Palace do manage to lift the FA Cup for a first time.

The other three teams in the semi-finals are, of course, also battling for a place in the Champions League...

Looking at Wembley and the teams, I think there can be a first-time winner in Crystal Palace. First major trophy for us would mean so much. Plus a ticket for the Europa League! Would also be a stunning moment for youngsters like Justin Devenny and Adam Wharton too! We beat Villa then we beat Forest in the final. UTP!

  10. Liverpool party set to get startedpublished at 07:28 British Summer Time

Liverpool v Tottenham (Sun, 1630 BST)

    Mandeep Sanghera

A point. Just one point. That's all that Liverpool need to win a 20th top-flight title and the club's fans will be primed to get the party started at Anfield on Sunday when the Reds host Tottenham.

Judging by Spurs' record at Liverpool, there's little evidence to suggest that Arne Slot's team will not be confirmed as champions in the Dutchman's first season in charge.

Tottenham are without a win at Anfield since 2011 and, on top of that, have lost 18 league games this season and face the first leg of their Europa League semi-final against Bodo/Glimt on Thursday.

Liverpool have been beaten just twice in the league this season - once at Anfield - and have the best home record in the top flight, having earned 41 points from 16 games.

There were few, if any, that thought Slot would lead the Reds to the title after he arrived from Feyenoord to replace Jurgen Klopp last summer.

However, he is on the brink of guiding a team that fell away in the latter stages of last season to a top-flight crown that will draw them level on 20 titles with arch rivals Manchester United.

Slot will chat to the media at about 09:00 BST this morning and we'll see if he is his usual calm and considered self or allows himself to take in what he is so close to achieving.

I don't know about anyone else, but, for me, the FA Cup semi-final weekend has always been one of the highlights of the season.

Add to that the prospect of a title party and this could be pretty epic.

We would love to hear about your plans for the weekend.

Are you off to Wembley or Anfield? If not, how are you planning to watch your team? If you are a neutral, which match are you most excited about watching and why?

  13. Good morningpublished at 06:59 British Summer Time

Welcome to the calm before the storm.

We will bring you the usual Friday fayre of managerial news conferences, with Liverpool boss Arne Slot first up at 09:00 BST.

No prizes for guessing the main topic of conversation, with the Reds now just one point away from sealing their second title of the Premier League era.

Should Liverpool earn a draw or win in Sunday's game against Tottenham at Anfield they will also equal Manchester United's record of 20 top-flight titles in total.

Newcastle manager Eddie Howe is also set to hold his first news conference (09:30) this morning since returning to work following a spell in hospital with pneumonia.

And we will be hearing from the managers of the four FA Cup semi-finalists - Manchester City (12:30), Crystal Palace (13:30), Nottingham Forest (13:30) and Aston Villa (14:00).
