Oxford United and Blackpool last met in League One in 2020-21, when the Seasiders avoided defeat in four meetings with the U’s (including play-offs), winning two and drawing two.
After their 2-0 win in March 2021, Blackpool could enjoy successive away victories at Oxford United for just a second time in the Football League, after November 1980.
Oxford have won nine of their 11 games in League One this season (L2) – only one team in the history of the third tier has won more of their opening 11 games of a campaign (11 – Reading in 1985-86).
Jordan Rhodes has scored seven goals in eight appearances in League One for Blackpool this term. The last time he netted more in a single campaign in the Football League was in 2015-16 (16), across spells at Middlesbrough and Blackburn.
