  1. Stones the 'full package'published at 14:10 British Summer Time

    England

England boss Thomas Tuchel has expressed his delight at having John Stones back in the England squad.

The Manchester City defender brings the "full package".

  2. 'We wanted a tighter squad and more competition'published at 14:09 British Summer Time

    England

England manager Thomas Tuchel on Kyle Walker not being picked for the squad: "I'm a big fan of Kyle, I tried to sign him several times in my career. I know what he can bring to any team. He decided to a new challenge, settled in at Burnley, he's a key player there. I admire him for his courage to do a step like this, stay in the strongest league and to go for a completely new challenge in his career but same reason and competition is on.

"Reecy is, I think on this position slightly ahead at the moment due to how he ended the season and how he played for us in the camps. [He] won the Club World Cup, is a key player for Chelsea at the moment and did excellent for us, and the second place for this camp goes to Tino.

"There had to be some difficult calls, these were some difficult calls for me and we wanted to do it because we wanted a tighter squad and more competition in the squad."

  3. 'I expect a different feeling'published at 14:08 British Summer Time

    England

England manager Thomas Tuchel on a better feeling in the squad: "I expect a different feeling, energy, because we simply have to. It is my responsibility to create it. We have made the squad tighter and this is the starting point. We have to create a better feeling and play with more energy."

  4. 'Right moment for Eze to go for a new challenge'published at 14:07 British Summer Time

    England

Thomas Tuchel says Eberechi Eze was one of the players who had a "very good camp in June" and it was the "right moment for him to go for a new challenge" by joining Arsenal.

  5. 'Wharton and Anderson deserve to be with us'published at 14:06 British Summer Time

    England

England manager Thomas Tuchel on Elliott Anderson and Adam Wharton's inclusion: "We called both of them up because, first of all, we think both of them deserve it. They played roles in two very successful campaigns for their clubs in the last season.

"Adam was involved in major trophies for Crystal Palace and a regular starter in central midfield. Eliott was a key part of the campaign that led to Europe for Nottingham Forest. He is, for me, more of an eight and Adam more of a six, from his characteristics. Both of them deserve it.

"They had a good start to the season, they have full rhythm, and it's time for more competition, time for a bit of fresh blood, and that's why they deserve to be with us."

  6. 'We decided for a tighter squad'published at 14:05 British Summer Time

    England

England manager Thomas Tuchel on the omissions of Jack Grealish and Trent Alexander-Arnold: "We decided for a tighter, more competitive squad, we didn't use all 23 players. There is no doubt I am a big fan of Trent and Jack Grealish.

"Big players and big personalities, always in the mix. I know both are desperate but in this camp we decided for Reece [James] and Livramento and in Jack's [Grealish], Rashy and Ebs. The competition is up."

  7. James 'slightly ahead' at right-backpublished at 14:04 British Summer Time

    England

Thomas Tuchel says Reece James is "slightly ahead" in the right-back position due to how he finished the season.

  8. Tuchel 'big fan' of Grealish and Alexander-Arnoldpublished at 14:03 British Summer Time

    England

Thomas Tuchel says he is a "big fan" of Jack Grealish and Trent Alexander-Arnold and they are both "desperate" to come back.

"They will stay in the mix. They can have more rhythm."

  9. Postpublished at 14:01 British Summer Time

    England

England boss Thomas Tuchel says both Adam Wharton and Elliot Anderson "deserved" their call-ups to the senior squad.

    More to come.

  11. Saka, Bellingham and Palmer out with injurypublished at 13:59 British Summer Time

Of course, there is no Bukayo Saka, Cole Palmer or Jude Bellingham in the squad as the trio all miss out due to injury.

I'm sure Thomas Tuchel will give more clarity on that shortly.

  12. Uninspiring Englandpublished at 13:58 British Summer Time

It's fair to say England were uninspiring in their two matches in June.

Harry Kane's 50th minute goal secured a 1-0 win away against Andorra before a 3-1 loss to Senegal in a friendly at the City Ground in a poor England display.

  13. Disappointment for Alexander-Arnoldpublished at 13:57 British Summer Time

It's early days, I know, but Trent Alexander-Arnold's summer switch to Real Madrid hasn't got off to the best of starts.

After starting the opening game of the La Liga season, he was dropped to the bench for Dani Carvajal and has now lost his spot in the England squad.

Is this the right move from Thomas Tuchel or should the two-time Premier League winner have been included?

  14. Spence earns first call-uppublished at 13:56 British Summer Time

Tottenham's Djed Spence has received his first call-up to the senior squad and you can't say it's not deserved.

Left-back has been a problem position for England of late and Spence could be the player to nail down the spot before the World Cup next summer.

  16. Who do England play?published at 13:53 British Summer Time

The England squad will report to St George's Park on Monday following this weekend's games.

They will take on Andorra at Villa Park on 6 September, before travelling to Belgrade to face Serbia on 9 September.

The Three Lions are four points clear at the top of Group K after beating Albania, Latvia and Andorra in their opening three games.

  17. Anderson has 'world at his feet'published at 13:52 British Summer Time

Nottingham Forest fans love Elliot Anderson and with good reason.

Here is Forest supporter Adam Wiklo saying Anderson has the "world at his feet" as he earns first England call-up.

  18. Anderson receives first England call-uppublished at 13:51 British Summer Time

Elliot Anderson was one of England's standout performers when they retained their U21 European crown in the summer and now he's earned his first senior call.

The 22-year-old has become one of Nottingham Forest's key players since his move from Newcastle and has started the season in great form.

The position next to Declan Rice in England's midfield is up for grabs and Anderson will want to stake a claim.
