Newport are unbeaten in their last three home league games against Crewe (W2 D1) since a 2-1 defeat in March 2018.
Crewe are looking to complete their first league double over Newport since the 1987-88 season.
Newport County haven’t ended a year with a league win since 2014 when they beat Cheltenham Town – they are winless in eight since then (D5 L3).
Crewe’s final league game of the year will be in Wales for just a third time – they lost 4-2 to Wrexham in 1955 and beat Newport 2-1 in 1987.
