Everton boss Brian Sorensen: "The girls did what was asked of them and we put our bodies on the line at the right moments.

"We were strong defensively and I don't think they had big, big chances. The plan was good and the girls were even better executing it.

"What pleased me most? The resilience, the togetherness, the willingness to fight for each other, the coolness, the calmness. I'm super proud.

"This result is only going to build our confidence."

    Liverpool

It looks like bad news for Liverpool midfielder Sofie Lundgaard, who went off injured in the win over Tottenham.

Reds boss Matt Beard said afterwards she will need a scan but that it is "probably ACL" related.

That is tough for the 22-year-old Denmark international, who only signed a new contract on Merseyside a couple of weeks ago.

  7. 'I'm not going to blame the referee'published at 17:17 British Summer Time 6 October

    FT: Tottenham 2-3 Liverpool

    Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham manager Robert Vilahamn on conceding a late penalty: "It's really hard to be a referee and I know that. The free-kick before that, I obviously will always have a feeling of 'is this really a penalty? Is it really a free-kick?' It feels like it's a very, very soft one. I haven't seen it afterwards. On the other hand, it's so hard to be aref and I'm not going to come down here and blame them. I'm just going to learn from the level we have and make sure we perform better because it is tough to be a ref."

On the message at full-time: "In the second half, we showed some really good character. We were giving the fight and we were almost going for it and sometimes when you lose, you cannot let the emotions take over. You can't say everything is bad, you have to stick together and make sure we take steps from this as well. Of course, you need to have emotions. You need to be down or sad or angry today, but it's important that we look at it with not too many emotions because if you are going to analyse a game, you need to be quite calm and reflect on the right stuff. We are going to take steps, we are going to bounce back. A tough game next week, but it is going to be a fun game.

  8. 'It is always tough to lose in the final minutes'published at 17:14 British Summer Time 6 October

    FT: Tottenham 2-3 Liverpool

    Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham manager Robert Vilahamn looks onImage source, PA Media

Tottenham manager Robert Vilahamn: "It's always tough to lose in the last minutes. The performance in the first half was not great but in the second half, we took the fight to them. We had some really good chances as well. We came back two times and were coming for the 3-2 and then they get a penalty and score to make it 3-2. It's tough but it's a part of the game. Sometimes, to feel is to feel you win, but also, it's tough right now.

On changes in the second half: "We changed a little bit in the midfield and played with one six and two 10s to make sure we made some more problems for them because we couldn't really nail the build-up. In the first half, they pressed really good, Liverpool. Then, when we get more players higher up and we can win the ball back quickly if we didn't succeed. The character was also much better in the second half to realise the first half was not good enough. The first half from Liverpool was really physical. They had different tempos at different times. We needed to go back and be present and make sure we did it and I think in the second half, the players really did that. I think we had them, but then, you need to nail it as well and unfortunately, they got an extra chance and scored.

"We had it from the beginning that we would take the fight first and then play, but that goal interrupted that because they got the goal quite early, quite easily. We needed to get back and we couldn't really find the momentum of that because of the rhythm of the game. On the other hand, sometimes it takes a while before we get everyone on the same page, but we were trying in the first half. We were trying but we couldn't really nail it. Great stuff in the second half, but unfortunately, a loss."

  9. 'I'm really proud of the team'published at 17:12 British Summer Time 6 October

    FT: Tottenham 2-3 Liverpool

    Liverpool

Liverpool manager Matt Beard: "It reminded me a bit of the Chelsea game last year, the 4-3. I thought we were in complete control of the game and Sophie’s injury, looking back at it now, probably had a big impact on us.

"We had to adjust our shape in the first half and then we adjusted again in the second half. I’m just really proud of the girls because we showed immense character today. We’ve scored all five goals today but I’ve just said to them at the end there, we’re all putting our bodies on the line and unfortunately, some ricochet in, some don’t’ that was the style of today. We could’ve been out of sight first half, let’s be honest but we weren’t and when you don’t take your chances, it allows Tottenham to stay in the game. We showed immense character today and I’m really proud of them.

"We were always in front but I think when they peg you back, to get obviously back in front again was important. I think two set-pieces, two great finishes from Marie, especially the free-kick. It was an entertaining game for the neutral. I’m just glad we walked away with three points."

On Marie-Therese Höbinger's two goals: "I think you could see the girls at half-time were visibly upset with the Sofie Lundgaard situation. I know [Hobinger] put herself under pressure to win the game for [Lundgaard] at half-time. She’s a fantastic player, great character, she’s a technician. We see that every day in training. I’m delighted for her and I thought she was outstanding today."

  10. 'Hobinger is a legend'published at 17:09 British Summer Time 6 October

Liverpool boss Matt Beard, speaking to BBC Sport: "At one stage it looked like history repeating itself. We have shown amazing character because Tottenham are a good side.

"It's a big three points for us. We should have been 2-0 or 3-0 up at half time. The league is so competitive that if you don't take your chances you are going to be under pressure. The girls have been up and down confidence-wise but that is a big three points."

On Sofie Lundgaard's injury: "I'm gutted for Sofie. That's the second time that has happened to her. We ended up changing to a 3-4-3 system."

On Marie Hobinger scoring a late penalty: "She's a legend."

  11. 'A really challenging period'published at 17:06 British Summer Time 6 October

Arsenal boss Jonas Eidevall on five games in two weeks, including Wednesday's Champions League group match at Bayern Munich: "We have a really quick turnaround time and it's a really challenging period for us.

"But we simply have to do our very best. All the games that are coming up - different challenges, different questions and we need to be really good.

"We see ourselves as a Champions League club so that's really important. I hope it's not going to be different [against Bayern Munich] since we got the better of them in the quarter-finals two years ago.

"Bayern Munich are a really good team with a really good coach. I think they have been building well the last couple of seasons. It's one of the tougher opponents we could play in Europe. We really need to have a strong performance if we are going to get anything out of it."

  12. 'I was very nervous, but I knew we were going to win'published at 17:04 British Summer Time 6 October

    FT: Tottenham 2-3 Liverpool

    Liverpool

Liverpool's Marie-Therese Höbinger after scoring two goals: "It was crazy. It was very hard, very focussed but we really wanted to get those three points and I’m just glad we got the win."

On scoring a free-kick: "I knew where I went to place it straight away when I saw the position and then I thought ‘you’re going to do it, you’re going to do it. Just put it over their heads.’ It worked quite well.

"We do practice shooting a lot. That’s the most fun part as well. I really enjoyed doing that at the coach always help with building a wall and helping with different techniques. We do it a lot."

On her stoppage time penalty: "I was very nervous to be honest but I always knew we were going to win this game. I knew I wanted to do it and I was just so sure that that is the moment that’s going to bring us the three points. I knew where I wanted to place it and then I just went 100 percent."

On manager Matt Beard calling her a "legend": "No, he is the legend."

More from Arsenal boss Jonas Eidevall: "We have to acknowledge that we have to play our part in creating the atmosphere and as I said I don't think we played with enough intent in the first half.

"It was a quiet and even game in the first half. We had most control but we didn't really create much. If we want to have the crowd going, if we want to create that atmosphere at the Emirates that we know is such an advantage for us, we need to play with more intent."

  14. 'We needed a quicker start'published at 17:00 British Summer Time 6 October

Arsenal boss Jonas Eidevall: "I'm disappointed with the result and I'm disappointed with the performance. I think we need to do better and start playing with more intent from the start.

"We should have put Everton under more pressure in the first half and moved the ball quicker. I think we did that in the end but it was a little bit too late.

"Everton defend with so many players behind the ball and are really dedicated in their defending. We got the crowd going and created more energy in the second half."

FT: Leicester City 0-2 Crystal Palace

A first win under the belt of Laura Kaminski's Crystal Palace. They seem to have adapted to life in the Women's Super League pretty quickly, just how far can they push it?

For Leicester City, that is a really disappointing result. They will have identified that game as one where they could pick up points and instead have lost at home to the new kids on the block.

    Leicester City 0-2 Crystal Palace

    That will be that!

Crystal Palace secure their first ever win in the Women's Super League and they have fully deserved it after two goals from Annabel Blanchard.

A brilliant, precious three points on the road.

    Leicester City 0-2 Crystal Palace

All hands to the pump for Leicester City but it's looking like it won't be enough with less than two minutes to go.

Julie Thibaud loses the ball in the Crystal Palace half and Abbie Larkin races down on the Foxes' goal. She opts to have a shot rather than waste a bit of time in the corner but Janina Leitzig gathers.

  19. INJURY TIMEpublished at 16:48 British Summer Time 6 October

    Leicester City 0-2 Crystal Palace

As a newly promoted side, it is not always taking leads in matches that is difficult but holding onto them and Crystal Palace have been brilliant at that.

They have been organised and disciplined from start to finish so boss Laura Kaminski will likely we just as pleased with the clean sheet as she is with the two goals.

Five minutes added on at the King Power.
