That's all from Eddie Howe. We got there in the end.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is next on the agenda - we're expecting him any moment now.

We've then got Man City manager Pep Guardiola to follow that before seven news conferences all get under way at the same time at 13:30.

Still not sure how we're going to do that one. Anyone free?

  2. 'We are still finding out what team we will be'published at 12:02 BST

Newcastle United v Arsenal (Sun, 16:30 BST)

    Newcastle United

Newcastle boss Eddie Howe on how his side have changed: "They [Arsenal] are a different team [to last season] but likewise we are a different team.

"We are still in the moment of finding out what team we are going to be and there have been really positive signs already this season. Against Bradford there were signs of the creative side to our game and the technical side was in a really good place and we are going to need something similar [against Arsenal]."

Can't help but think we're seeing the impact of the Club World Cup on Chelsea's injury list so early in the season. No break, barely a pre-season and with the world cup coming next Summer it might not be until Summer '27 that the players can stop and recover!

Newcastle boss Eddie Howe on their record Arsenal: "You play these teams so often and results eb and flow. Sometimes you better against one team and not so well against others.

"You don't think about that going in to the game and we have always had that line that you draw under the past and the past isn't relevant but you need to take whatever confidence you can."

  5. 'Gordon always rises to the occasion'published at 11:48 BST

Newcastle United v Arsenal (Sun, 16:30 BST)

    Newcastle United

Newcastle boss Eddie Howe on the return of Anthony Gordon: "It is a big boost for us to have him back, The Barcelona game was sandwiched in-between his suspension in the Premier League and I think now that is fully over he can really focus on the few games we have before the international break.

"I thought he was excellent against Bradford, he was creative and certainly he had the right attitude to the game and helped the team deliver a good performance.

"We need that attitude from everyone, we are playing big games every three or four days and he is someone who has done well in those kind of games [against teams like Arsenal] and for me he is a player that rises to the occasion."

  6. 'Botman getting close to his best'published at 11:42 BST

Newcastle United v Arsenal (Sun, 16:30 BST)

    Newcastle United

Newcastle boss Eddie Howe on Sven Botman and Malick Thiaw: "Just looking individually at the players, Sven [Botman] has been a magnificent player for us.

"You go back a couple of seasons ago he was a part of the back four that was really resilient and solid. He was in a back four that was playing consistently at that time and everyone knows his qualities. The injury came at a bad time for him and whenever you have a long term injury there is a period where you go through and have to find your best form and we are close to seeing him back to his best.

"Malick [Thiaw] is in a different situation but he has really impressed us."

  7. Miley criticism 'unjustified'published at 11:38 BST

Newcastle boss Eddie Howe on Lewis Miley criticism: "I'd be amazed if that was the case [that he was being criticised]. I think that would be totally unjustified.

"For me, Lewis [Miley] is an outstanding player that we need to support and protect and sometimes when you look at him you forget how young he is. All players need help and guidance and of course we will do everything we can to support him."

Chelsea v Brighton (Sat, 15:00 BST)

    Chelsea

Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca on goalkeepers: "Robert [Sanchez] for a long period was very good for us. The last part of last season and the beginning of this season he was fantastic.

"He made a mistake against Manchester United and recognised that, I said many times that when a keeper makes a mistake or when a midfielder makes a mistake, it is exactly the same.

"We are happy with Robert, we are happy with Filip [Jorgensen] and there is not any problem with Robert."

Chelsea are that team that somehow find away to get over the line when things go against them. I'm hoping this is Estevao's time to really show what he is capable of and others to follow in the same way. Prove we're not a one man team going forward.

I think not having Palmer might spark something with Chelsea, don't get me wrong he is a brilliant talent but if you look at the stats, Chelsea won every game without him. Maybe some new signings can get some minutes like Buonanotte, showed some real class the other night.

Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca on Cole Palmer's injury: "Yes, we decided to protect a little bit Cole. In terms of not letting his injury getting worse.

"We decided to rest him for two-three weeks until the international break to see if with that rest he can recover 100% and to be fit after the international break.

"I don't think he needs surgery but it is just to manage the pain in his groin. We have decided to be a little bit conservative with him."

Newcastle boss Eddie Howe on William Osula: "The thing with Will [Osula] and the situation with him and his career, we felt and he felt that he needed to play regularly after development behind the scenes.

"He did a lot of work and a lot of individual work on all areas of the game and I think there was a need for him to play. Of course that move [to Eintracht Frankfurt] did not happen and fortunately for us and for Will he is getting opportunities to step on to the pitch and I was really pleased with him on Wednesday."

    Newcastle United

    Nick WoltemadeImage source, Getty Images

Newcastle boss Eddie Howe on Nick Woltemade: "It is difficult to see him as a ten considering we do not play with somebody in that position. I see him as a nine.

"I see him as a nine who plays it slightly differently to other nines that we might have had in the past. You can't compare Nick [Woltemade] to Callum Wilson for example, they are two totally different profiles of player."

    Liverpool

    That's it from Arne Slot.

The main thing from the Liverpool boss was confirmation of the terrible injury to centre-back Giovanni Leoni, but he also spoke about Alexander Isak, Hugo Ekitike and Federico Chiesa being added to the Champions League squad.

No time to waste, though, the Premier League managers' news conferences are coming thick and fast today.

  19. 'Crystal Palace are a difficult team to score goals against'published at 10:53 BST

Crystal Palace v Liverpool (Sat, 15:00 BST)

    Liverpool

Liverpool manager Arne Slot on the squad scoring in 39 consecutive Premier League games: "Yes we do [take confidence in it] but even we find it very hard to score goals against them [Crystal Palace].

"In the three games we have played, twice we only scored one goal and once we scored two but they scored two as well.

"It's a difficult team to score goals against. Until now, we have been able to score against them but they have improved, especially compared to the firs time we played them.

"We have players that can score goals and have the quality as a team to create chances but because of the way they play, it's not easy to create - that's why when we create it would be smart to score as soon as we can."

Liverpool manager Arne Slot was asked if Federico Chiesa will be added to the Champions League squad in place of Giovanni Leoni: "We have looked into this. I cannot tell you exactly where this process is at the moment. It is not something I do myself.

"If I am informed correctly, if a player has an injury for longer than two months then you are able to replace him - now we have to see if it's true or not but other people are looking into that."
