He did look offside, it falls to Diomande, who has the simplest of tasks, but whether or not he came from an onside position...

For Rangers, it's pretty much their first attack and St Mirren find themselves 1-0 down.

Fouled on the edge of the area, the midfielder gets up and dusts himself down to curl a free-kick off the face off the crossbar.

Inches away twice in the space of two minutes.

You're not going to get a better chance at Ibrox than that.

He just snatched at the shot. It's poor defending from Rangers.

One-on-one, at a slight angle, but you've got to hit the target. The one thing you cannot do is miss the target.

What an opportunity for St Mirren.

Not too many seats at all here at Ibrox where the home faithful have arrived in expectant mood this Sunday afternoon.

Six points behind Celtic. Nine behind league leaders Aberdeen.

The equation is simple for those of a Rangers persuasion: only a win will do as there in no margin for error now whatsoever.

St Mirren are showing serious attacking intent in these opening stages.

They win an early throw-in deep into the hosts' half, but Rangers regain possession and Toyosi Olusanya gives away a free-kick to the Glasgow side just outside their own penalty box.

Any time I've watched him, it's been as part of a front two, so on his own, can he run in behind, can he hold it up, does he have the pace for it, to bring others in to play?
