Craig Feroz's side have had a hard start to the season, facing all of last season's top five already and suffering defeat each time.
However, they've leapt to sixth in the table after their latest win with Thistle stuck down in ninth.
Thistle did hit the bar through Erin Rennie after McDonald-Nguah's headed opener, but it was the visitors who struck again to seal all three points.
