Cole Palmer did his trademark "cold" celebration then ran to the bench to celebrate with his close friend Tosin Adarabioyo.

The two Mancunians are known to be close with Adarabioyo nicknamed 'uncle' in the squad.

He must have told Palmer something before the match. Maybe that he would end his eight-game goal drought for club and country.

It has been a difficult 2025 for Palmer - aside from one or two matches.

Chelsea really are piling on here trying to get a second. Enzo Fernandez's swerving first-time effort from outside the box is into the gloves of Weverton.

Estevao Willian, 18, is looking very bright early on.

This is the second meeting between these teams. Chelsea beat Palmeiras 2-1 after extra time in the 2021 final of this competition (in its smaller format) - which was played in February 2022.

Kai Havertz netted the winner from the spot, with Romelu Lukaku scoring their other goal.

Raphael Veiga, the Brazilian club's scorer, is on the bench today.

Chelsea may be the favourites but the Palmeiras supporters are totally dominating the atmosphere.

This has been a common occurrence at the Club World Cup thus far with this competition meaning so much more to the South American teams.
