It's actually time for the draw to start... can you believe it? Not sure I can.

A reminder that you can watch along at the top of the page if you're in the UK.

  13. Hallgrimsson targets end to Republic of Ireland's waitpublished at 11:15 Greenwich Mean Time 13 December

It will be 24 years since Republic of Ireland's last participation in a World Cup by the time this tournament comes around.

Nobody is likely to forget 2002 and Roy Keane departing Saipan early after a row with Mick McCarthy.

They have been to the European Championships twice since, but it will be 10 years since their last major tournament.

Is Heimir Hallgrimsson the person to change that?

  14. Will O'Neill end Northern Ireland's 40-year wait?published at 11:13 Greenwich Mean Time 13 December

It has been an even longer wait for Northern Ireland.

They last qualified for a World Cup in 1986, so 40 years ago, while it will have been a decade since their last major tournament.

Will Michael O'Neill, the man who led them to the 2016 Euros, do it again after returning to the role?

  15. Bellamy aims for history with Walespublished at 11:11 Greenwich Mean Time 13 December

Craig Bellamy is also set to find out his first fixtures in a qualifying campaign as Wales boss.

He is aiming to guide Wales to successive World Cups for the first time in history.

Their promotion in the Nations League is a positive too, with Wales in a strong position to guarantee at least a play-off spot if they don't qualify automatically.

We'll cross that bridge in 2025...

  17. Clarke and Scotland aim to end 28-year waitpublished at 11:08 Greenwich Mean Time 13 December

Scotland last qualified for a World Cup in 1998, leaving Steve Clarke and his side aiming to end a 28-year wait.

They have qualified for back-to-back European Championships under Clarke, so does this represent their best chance?

We already know they are likely to be in a four-team group. Does that help their chances or limit opportunities to recover from any setbacks? Only time will tell.

I can confirm that Thomas Tuchel is in the house too - he's among those currently listening to Infantino.

Tuchel doesn't actually start his role until 1 January.

Fifa president Gianni Infantino has just come out and is doing a speech.

He's wearing a suit with white trainers. Bold move.

Infantino says 2026 will be the "most incredible" Fifa World Cup.

  20. Tuchel's first assignment... maybepublished at 11:03 Greenwich Mean Time 13 December

While we won't find out exactly who new England manager Thomas Tuchel will face in his first game yet, we'll be one step closer.

The groups will be decided in this draw, but the exact fixture list will be produced over the coming days.

As just mentioned there's no guarantee that England will start their campaign in March either, so there's a possibility that the former Chelsea and Bayern Munich boss may start with a friendly instead.
