Ajax are winless in their last 12 home games against Italian sides in all competitions (D6 L6), most recently a 6-1 loss to Napoli in October 2022.
This is the first ever meeting between Ajax and Lazio – the Italian side have won their last two European meetings with Dutch opposition, never before winning three such matches in a row.
Ajax have won their two home games in this season’s UEFA Europa League 4-0 v Besiktas and 5-0 v Maccabi Tel Aviv; they haven’t won three straight home games in major European competition by a 4+ goal margin since 1979-80 in the European Cup.
Only Lazio (2) and Athletic Club (2) have conceded fewer goals in the UEFA Europa League this season than Ajax (3), with the same trio keeping the joint-most clean sheets in the competition in 2024-25 (3 each, along with FCSB and Olympiakos).
