This will be Hoffenheim’s first ever meeting with Romanian opposition – German sides are unbeaten in their last 24 meetings against such sides (W12 D12), since Bayer Leverkusen lost 1-0 to Dinamo Bucuresti during the 2006-07 UEFA Cup.
FCSB have won just one of their 18 meetings with German sides in all competitions (D7 L10) and are winless in 16 such matches since a 3-1 win against Borussia Dortmund in the 1957-58 European Cup.
