They look jaded, tired.
We’ve reached a tipping point for players and I really think the game is beginning to suffer. Liverpool aside.
I always think Man City has been the best side, that’s not beyond doubt. I just think City seem to be lacking some direction.
Also the question mark is, is Pep Guardiola staying or going at the end of the season?
I do wonder if that’s what the players are beginning to question - It takes something extraordinary to win four titles in a row and that’s going to leave you jaded and that is going to leave you at some point, unable to do it again.

It might be 10am Monday morning, but I’d like what Tim (09:54) is drinking. City won’t finish top 4? Outrageous claim.
Zak
Comments like Tim @ 9:54 are why a lot of people will be happy to see Liverpool falter. Less than a third of the season gone, the side off to the best start are ahead, albeit on the back of favourable fixtures. It's a marathon not a sprint.
James
Wow Tim at 9.54. I'm a Liverpool fan but a bit more balanced. We've had an easy opening run of games whilst Arsenal's have been tough and we all know City often struggle in the Autumn before winning virtually every game from January onwards. I fear it will be close at the top by Christmas.
Tim (more balanced), Kent
To write City off for being just five points off Liverpool in November and to suggest they are miles off is quite possibly the most absurd opinion I’ve literally ever heard voiced about sport.

Brighton 2-1 Man City
Pep Guardiola has lost four games in a row in all competitions for the first time (excluding penalty shootouts) in a trophy-laden career with Barcelona, Bayern Munich and City.
City are bidding to win a fifth Premier League title in a row - but Opta only give them a 38% chance of doing so. That figure was 82% before a ball was kicked this season.
"Maybe after seven years winning six Premier Leagues, maybe one year another team deserve it," said Guardiola.
However, they are famously strong finishers and have only lost four Premier League games after Christmas in the past three seasons.
Plus they have overcome much greater obstacles than a five-point deficit after 11 games.

Can we stop pretending there even is a title race this year? Arsenal aren’t up to it, City are miles off it (and won’t finish in the top 4). Liverpool have it sewn up already, just a question of by how much now.
Tim
Liverpool 2-0 Aston Villa
Liverpool are only the sixth team in Premier League history to be five points clear after 11 games.
The first five all won the title - including Liverpool in 2019-20, the last time a team were so far clear at this stage.
There were many doubts about how Liverpool would get on after the exit of legendary boss Jurgen Klopp last summer - but they are flying under Slot.
Reds midfielder Alexis Mac Allister said "before the season started I would not say we were candidates, but now it looks like [we are]" after their 2-0 win over Villa.
Opta give them a 58.3% chance of the title - up from 5.1% before the season.

Arsenal 1-1 Chelsea
Arsenal fans were hoping this was going to be their season after pushing Manchester City close in each of the past two campaigns.
And with Manchester City faltering - on the back of four consecutive defeats in all competitions - this might have been their ideal chance.
But Liverpool are performing better than anyone could have imagined under new boss Arne Slot, with 28 points out of a possible 33.
And the Gunners trail the leaders by nine points at the end of a weekend for the first time since the final day of 2021-22, when they finished 24 points behind Manchester City.
They looked dejected as the final whistle went at Stamford Bridge.

As an Arsenal fan I think we are too far back already. Some dodgy decisions have cost us but a lack of attacking options has cost us. I also think Mikel's switch to 4-4-2 was poor and cost us some points. We need to go deep in several cup competitions for him to keep his job.

Brighton 2-1 Man City
Pep Guardiola fell to a fourth successive defeat for the first time as Manchester City boss as Brighton came from behind to beat his Premier League champions.
It is the first time since 2006 that City have lost four in a row.
Manchester City looked on course to end their disappointing sequence when Erling Haaland capped an impressive opening at Amex Stadium in the 23rd minute, scoring at the second attempt from Mateo Kovacic's pass.
Brighton, however, held their nerve, taking complete control after the break - and it was only their poor finishing that prevented them drawing level before substitute Joao Pedro pounced in a scramble 12 minutes from time.

Liverpool 2-0 Aston Villa
Liverpool took full advantage of Manchester City's slip-up in the Premier League title race by beating Aston Villa to move five points clear in top spot.
Just before the game at Anfield kicked off, the reigning champions were beaten 2-1 by Brighton.
That meant leaders Liverpool knew victory would ensure they opened up a decent gap to City heading into the international break.
Has the Premier League title race been whittled down to two teams after just 11 games of the season?
Leaders Liverpool had the dream weekend after victory over Aston Villa coupled with defeat for Manchester City against Brighton - and Sunday’s 1-1 draw between Arsenal and Chelsea.
They now lead City by five points - and the rest of the pack by nine points or more.
Opta's 'supercomputer' gives Mikel Arteta's Arsenal just a 3.5% chance of the title, with Chelsea down on 0.2% and anybody else on 0%.

Braga 2-4 Sporting
Simon Stone
BBC Sport's chief football news reporter
At half-time yesterday, it looked like being a damp squib ending to Ruben Amorim's time as Sporting coach as they trailed 2-0 at his other former club Braga.
But Sporting roared back to win in the second-half to leave Amorim saying he was 'at peace' with the manner of his exit.
He was asked about Ruud van Nistelrooy and his likely tactics for his opening game in charge at Ipswich on 24 November.
It sound like he is prepared to be flexible.
"I know how I'm going to play at the beginning," he said.
"We have to start with a structure that we know and then adapt with the players we have, the injuries, the characteristics, the ability to defend, attack.
"I'll find out in the next few weeks. I need to present something that I know very well.
"About this club legend (Van Nistelrooy). He did a great job. I'll speak to him tomorrow and then I'll explain everything.
"I'm a very clear person. Let's wait until tomorrow and the next few weeks."
Braga 2-4 Sporting
Ruben Amorim bid farewell to Sporting in some style last night, as his side came from 2-0 down to beat Braga 4-2 in the Portuguese league.
It was Amorim's final game in charge of the Lisbon side before he leaves to take charge of Manchester United this week.
"I am really happy," Amorim said after the game. "It was, again, an amazing night.
"I feel ready for the new challenge. I'm not naive, I know that it's going to be very different, very tough, but I feel that I am ready. I'm in peace now."
Man Utd 3-0 Leicester

Ruud van Nistelrooy expects to hear at some point today whether he is to remain at Manchester United.
Ruben Amorim is due to fly in at some point today - he can't properly start work until he gets his visa - although it has little real effect as there are no senior players to work with, other than injured ones - but United are still to confirm the make up of his backroom team.
That means Van Nistelrooy and the other remaining members of Ten Hag's backroom team that have been helping him, are yet to discover their fate after completing a four game spell in charge.
"It was an interim spell for a short term and they kept me in the loop," said the Dutchman after yesterday's victory over Leicester.
"It was four games and for me it was important to have that clarity.
"The most important thing for me is the football club. I am here to support that and I want to continue that.
"I was told after the block of four there will be communication towards you and your colleagues and I am expecting that either tonight or tomorrow."
Multiple sources confirmed no decision had been communicated last night.

"We need to win, win, win, win and win" is the message from Mikel Arteta after further dropped points for Arsenal this weekend.
That quote leads today's back page of The I paper.
On the back page of today's Daily Mail, they have highlighted Pedro Neto's superb equaliser for Chelsea with "Cor, Neto", as well as highlighting Mikel Arteta's plea for no more injuries to his Arsenal side, or further dropped points.
Chelsea 1-1 Arsenal
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta said injuries to England duo Bukayo Saka and Declan Rice "did not look good" following their 1-1 draw with Chelsea.
"It doesn’t look good, because for two players of that importance to tell you they cannot continue in the game, obviously it’s not good news," said Arteta in his post-match press conference.
"Well, two players that just came off, I don’t know whether to expect them to be fit because if not they don’t come off."
Chelsea 1-1 Arsenal
That point for both sides leaves London rivals Chelsea and Arsenal in the top four heading into the international break.
Chelsea sit in third, with Arsenal behind in fourth on goal difference.
The duo sit nine points behind league leaders Liverpool, four behind Manchester City in second and only ahead of Nottingham Forest and Brighton via goal difference.
Metro
Pedro Neto's goal for Chelsea and dropped points for Arsenal continue to be the theme in today's newspapers, with the back page of Metro highlighting both.
They have gone with the headline "Gunners silenced by Neto".
