PSV have lost just one of their last seven meetings with French sides in all competitions (W2 D4), going down 2-1 at home to Monaco in the 2021-22 UEFA Europa League group stages.
Lens have never won away against a Dutch side in all European competitions (D1 L2), with this their first such visit to Netherlands since a 1-0 loss to SC Heerenveen in December 2006.
PSV are winless in their last 17 UEFA Champions League games (D8 L9) – only four teams have ever had a longer run in the competition; FCSB (23 between 2006-2013), Spartak Moscow (22, 2000-2006), AEK Athens (21, 1994-2006) and KRC Genk (18, 2002-2019).
Lens have only won one of their seven away games in the UEFA Champions League to date (D3 L3), going four games without a victory (D2 L2) since their one recorded in November 1998 v Arsenal (1-0).
PSV are looking for their first home win in the UEFA Champions League since December 2015 (2-1 v CSKA Moscow), under Phillip Cocu. The Dutch side have failed to win any of their last eight home games in the competition (D4 L4).
Lens have not lost any of the last seven UEFA Champions League matches in which they have conceded the first goal (W3 D4). Only Manchester United have had a longer such run in the competition's history, doing so between March 1998 and September 1999 (eight games).
Both teams have scored in each of Lens’ last 10 games in the UEFA Champions League (W3 D4 L3), with the French side netting 16 times and conceding 17 in return. The last time they kept a clean sheet in the competition was in November 1998 against Arsenal, in a 1-0 victory.
PSV’s Noa Lang has generated more shots after a carry than any other player in the UEFA Champions League this season (13 – nine shots, four chances created), while he’s also completed more take-ons (13) than anyone else in the competition this term.
Elye Wahi has scored in each of his last two UEFA Champions League appearances for Lens, netting two goals. If he finds the net here, he would be just the third Frenchman to score in three consecutive appearances in the competition while aged under 21, after Karim Benzema in November 2006 (3) and Kylian Mbappé in April 2017 (4).
Johan Bakayoko scored his first UEFA Champions League goal against Lens last time out (20y 187d), while the only PSV player to find the net more than once in a single edition while aged under 21 is Arjen Robben in 2003-04 (2).
