Salford City have only played more games in the Football League without winning against Exeter (5) than Stockport County (3 – D2 L1).
Stockport County won their first league meeting with Salford City 2-0 at Moor Lane last season, but their two league meetings with the Ammies since have ended level (1-1 in 2022-23, 0-0 in 2023-24).
This will be only the third time Salford City have ever played on a Thursday in League Two; they won both of the previous two (3-1 v Crewe in December 2019 and 4-1 v Grimsby in December 2022).
Stockport have failed to score in both of their last two away league games (D1 L1), more than their previous 20 beforehand (once).
