Do you stick with a back three/five for the final or switch formation to line up better against the Spanish, like how we only played a back five against Italy (who played a back five) in the last Euros?

You have already made history getting to a foreign final. Will you tell the lads just to go out and enjoy it? No need to worry about pressure.

    Spain v England (20:00 BST)

While we are on the subject of Euros awards, Guillem Balague has just said on BBC Radio 5 Live that he understands Phil Foden and Lamine Yamal are the two leading contenders for Uefa's player of the tournament award.

Who gets your vote? Thumbs up for Foden, thumbs down for Yamal...

Cameras are being set up and seats are starting to fill in the media room here at the Olympiastadion as the England and Spain press conferences approach.

Gareth Southgate is due up first, along with England captain Harry Kane.

The striker is the joint top scorer at these Euros with three goals, tied with five players including Spain's Dani Olmo. If neither of those players find the net in the final, and no other England or Spain player adds sufficiently to their tally, then the prize for top scorer will be shared between them all. , external

That's not been the case previously, when assists have been used to determine a solitary winner.

Not all stats, however, put a downer on England's chances in Sunday's Euro 2024 final against Spain.

England striker Harry Kane has scored more knockout stage goals at major tournaments (World Cup/EUROs) than any other European player (nine), including a record six at the European Championship.

The stats are stacking up against England somewhat...

Spain coach Luis de la Fuente will be 63 years and 23 days on the day of this game, the third-oldest manager to take charge of a Uefa European Championship final, after Luis Aragonés with Spain in 2008 (69y 337d) and Otto Rehhagel with Greece in 2004 (65y 330d), both of whom won the trophy.

Euro 2024: Spain’s Dani Olmo looks ahead to the final against England

Both teams have reached Sunday's Euro 2024 final on merit, but England and Spain's paths to Berlin could not have been more different.

Both are yet to lose a match but Spain have won all of theirs outright, including wins against three 'big' teams in France, Italy and Germany.

England drew against Denmark and Slovenia, needed extra time to beat Slovakia in the last 16 and penalties to overcome Switzerland.

But could England's turbulent route help them, with the mental edge of knowing they've already overcome plenty of adversity?

The numbers are in Spain's favour, though. The past six finals of the World Cup or Euros have been won by the team who played the first semi-final, leaving England needing to buck the trend to be champions.

Data experts Nielsen's Gracenote said Spain were clear favourites, with a 62% chance of winning.

"England's 38% chance makes them clear underdogs and they will be seeking to follow Czechoslovakia (1976), Denmark (1992), Greece (2004) and Portugal (2016) in becoming European champions by beating the favourites in the final," said Simon Gleave, head of analysis.

  12. 'Siege mentality has drifted'published at 18:07 British Summer Time 13 July

    Spain v England (20:00 BST)

    Izzy Christiansen
Former England midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live

The siege mentality of this England team throughout this tournament has got them to where they are.

But tomorrow's game is going to be different because I think the siege mentality has drifted now.

It's just going to be pure football - two incredible teams, two incredible sets of players going head to head.

  13. Batman v Superman?published at 18:05 British Summer Time 13 July

Spain v England (Sun, 20:00 BST)

    Guillem Balague
Spanish football journalist on BBC Radio 5 Live

In the semi-finals, it was Batman vs The Joker. We were Batman - and France were doing everything so ugly, and they were The Joker.

I have decided we are still Batman - we don't really have a superpower. But working together, with people who help us, and with gadgets, we get to be a superhero.

And you [England] are Superman. You have the best players - you play for the good of football, fantastic values. You are one of the good guys.

But Lamine [Yamal] will be your Kryponite.

OK, so a little confession here. It's been a busy few weeks for the BBC Sport football team, with lots of long days and late nights followed by early mornings.

Hopefully you may forgive us for being a little hysterical, fuelled by coffee and high spirits.

"Obviously we're in camp so we don't get to see what the atmosphere is like in England. The reaction on social media, you can see that it's crazy.

  18. Scintillating Spain v efficient England?published at 17:50 British Summer Time 13 July

Spain v England (Sun, 20:00 BST)

    Matthew Upson
Former England defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

England have probably played 30 minutes to one half of top football in that Dutch game, football that was really excellent.

Spain have probably played hours of scintillating, smooth, controlled football.

Either team is going to win it so differently - and that's really teeing up an interesting final.

Flying (well, train-ing) solo - arrived in Berlin late afternoon via London-Brussels-Koln. Ticket safely in UEFA app. Quick shower then off to see the sights and sample the beers! Last England game in Germany for me was the World Cup quarter-final defeat in 2006. It ends differently this time. COME ON ENGLAND!

Thankfully, England will not be lining up against Cristiano Ronaldo this time, unlike in 2006, although we hear Spain have got some pretty good players too!

    Gareth SouthgateImage source, Getty Images

Gareth Southgate was manager of the England senior side when Steve Cooper led the Under-17s to that World Cup win.

Southgate has since helped to move those World Cup-winning youngsters through the ranks, as well as the Under-21s players that won the U21s Euros last year, also against Spain.

It would be interesting to hear his thoughts on how important those landmark victories were.

The England manager will soon field questions from the media in his final news conference before Sunday's final.

Which got us thinking, if you had just one question to ask Gareth Southgate, what would it be?
