  1. City will be 'right up there' in the racepublished at 14:57 British Summer Time 13 October

Liverpool v Man City (15:00 BST

    Tanya Oxtoby
Northern Ireland manager on BBC Radio 5 Live

At the end of the day, I think City are going to be right up there, they’re a team with momentum, they’re a team in form.

This will be a tough challenge for them in terms of Liverpool away but I think they’ve got enough quality in their squad to make sure that they continue to move forward in the right direction, they’re going to be right up there at the end of the season.

    Paisley gates at Anfield

It's a big day at Anfield, one of England's most famous stadiums, as Liverpool play host to their first of three WSL games here this season.

Manchester City, who stunned European champions Barcelona this week, are in town and hoping to wrap up a brilliant week.

It's a task for Liverpool who are without manager Matt Beard due to illness.

They have not got a good record here at Anfield. They haven't won a WSL game and have suffered disappointing defeats by Everton.

But it would be some statement if they changed that record against City. They have a knack of upsetting the big teams...

A win this afternoon would see Manchester City jump above Chelsea and claim top spot in the Women's Super League - albeit having played a game more.

After drawing 2-2 with Arsenal in their opening game they have beaten Brighton and West Ham in the league.

They've already had a big result this week, winning 2-0 against Barcelona in the Champions League group stage on Wednesday night. Another good result to follow?

We've got one more game to bring you this afternoon, and it's a big one.

Liverpool host title contenders Manchester City at Anfield...

  6. HALF-TIMEpublished at 14:51 British Summer Time 13 October

    Crystal Palace 0-1 Brighton

Ooooh, Palace have a chance to go level right at the end of the first half but Katie Stengel can't direct her effort towards goal.

As it stands, it's that controversial goal that separates these two at the break.

  7. HALF-TIMEpublished at 14:49 British Summer Time 13 October

    Aston Villa 0-0 Leicester

That's that for the first 45 minutes. Both of these teams are still searching for their first Women's Super League win of the season and so far Aston Villa have looked the more likely but it's all been a bit cagey.

  8. HALF-TIMEpublished at 14:49 British Summer Time 13 October

    Everton 0-1 West Ham

Anouk Denton's 10th minute goal has West Ham in the lead at the interval.

Hosts Everton have been the dominant side but have work to do in the second half after failing to convert any of their chances so far.

  9. YELLOW CARDpublished at 14:48 British Summer Time 13 October

    Aston Villa 0-0 Leicester

It's all got a bit scrappy at Villa Park as Villa defender Noelle Moritz is shown a yellow card.

  10. YELLOW CARDpublished at 14:47 British Summer Time 13 October

    Aston Villa 0-0 Leicester

Sari Kees is the latest Leicester player into the book. She holds back Chasity Grant as the Villa winger looks to get on a run.

  11. INJURY TIMEpublished at 14:46 British Summer Time 13 October

    Everton 0-1 West Ham

We head into three minutes of additional time at the end of the half.

  12. CLOSE!published at 14:45 British Summer Time 13 October

    Crystal Palace 0-1 Brighton

Fran Kirby cuts in and has a go from 12-yards out but it's a good save from Shae Yanez to prevent the visitors doubling their lead.

That would've been a poor time for the Eagles to concede and their keeper gets a few pats on the back from her teammates for that stop.

  13. GREAT SAVE!published at 14:44 British Summer Time 13 October

    Everton 0-1 West Ham

    Almost the equaliser!

Honoka Hayashi is upended in the middle of the park but the referee plays advantage and the hosts nearly capitalise.

Katja Snoejis latches onto a ball in behind but her shot is brilliantly saved by an on-rushing Kinga Szemik.

  14. Postpublished at 14:44 British Summer Time 13 October

    Aston Villa 0-0 Leicester

Shana Chossenotte is through on the right-hand side and Aston Villa goalkeeper Sabrina D'Angelo comes right out of her goal to clear the danger. Leicester forward Chossenotte is down and looks hurt but the keeper had timed it just right and got the ball.

  15. Postpublished at 14:42 British Summer Time 13 October

    Everton 0-1 West Ham

Everton continue to dominate here but are still struggling to find a goal.

Despite some promising attacking moments so far they remain the only side yet to score in the WSL this season.

The last team that failed to score in their opening four matches of a WSL season was Reading in the 2021-22 campaign.

  16. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 14:40 British Summer Time 13 October

    Crystal Palace 0-1 Brighton

Jelena Cankovic has picked up an injury and she's not going to be able to continue. Disappointing for the Serb, who was making her full Brighton debut.

On comes Maisie Symonds to replace her.

  17. CLOSE!published at 14:38 British Summer Time 13 October

    Everton 0-1 West Ham

    Oh what a chance!

Everton execute a clever free kick routine from a central area, with Karoline Olesen laying the ball off to Heather Payne, who in turn clips a great cross into the middle for Sara Holmgaard to attack.

The Dane gets her header all wrong though and the ball flies wide of the net.

  18. 'Terland the talisman'published at 14:36 British Summer Time 13 October

    FT: Man Utd 3-0 Tottenham

    Rachel Brown-Finnis
Ex-England goalkeeper on BBC Radio 5 Live

They knew when Elisabeth Terland was brought in that she had already proved her self in the WSL with Brighton.

Brighton struggled to lose her and she's the talisman up-front for Man Utd.

The first two opportunities Man Utd had with Bizet they got the ball into Terland then it was all down to her.

GOAL - Crystal Palace 0-1 Brightonpublished at 14:36 British Summer Time 13 October

    Bruna Vilamala (38 mins)

Jelena Cankovic knocks one into the far post and Shae Yanez comes out to collect. She clashes with Nikita Parris and misses the ball, allowing Bruna Vilamala to stab home.

Crystal Palace are absolutely fuming, they thought their goalkeeper was fouled.

Brighton are not interested, though. They're off the mark.

  20. Postpublished at 14:35 British Summer Time 13 October

    Everton 0-1 West Ham

Honoka Hayashi is the latest Toffees player to shoot at goal from range.

The former Hammer doesn't catch her shot at all well though and it rolls harmlessly into the arms of Kinga Szemik.

Heather Payne fashions a gap on the right moments later, cutting inside her full back and shooting low, but again Szemik is there to gather.
