Forest Green took advantage of Barnet’s defeat at York to move to the top of the National League with a comfortable win over rock-bottom Ebbsfleet.

Having scored the winner over Braintree at the weekend, Kyle McAllister struck for the second game in a row, rifling home in the seventh minute after Ebbsfleet had only cleared a corner as far as the Scot.

Rovers put the result beyond doubt with two goals at the beginning of the second half. Jamie Robson doubled the home side’s lead in the 47th minute when he bundled into the net from Tom Knowles’ cross.

The provider then turned goalscorer five minutes later with a fine strike following decent work down the right to give Forest Green a 3-0 lead.

Wes Fonguck pulled one back for Ebbsfleet with a fantastic strike from outside the area but it was too little, too late, as Forest Green claimed a fourth successive league win.
