Lasse Nordas and Zack Nelson both scored first league goals for Luton as they eased to a League One win at Burton.
Town dominated most of the first half at the Pirelli Stadium and it was no surprise when they went in front after 18 minutes, Nordas firing home from the edge of the box for his first goal in English football.
Seeking an immediate return to the Championship after back-to-back relegations, the Hatters continued to look the more threatening and got a crucial second goal on the stroke of half-time.
Nelson had already seen a thunderbolt shot smack the post before he forced Jordan Amissah to save with his feet, the rebound flying out to Millenic Alli, outside the box, and his instinctive first-time shot found the bottom corner.
Burton quickly had a chance to halve the arrears after the break but Jake Beesley, after muscling his way into the box, curled a good chance wide.
It proved a costly miss as Luton made it three just before the hour, Nordas driving into the box to set up a chance for Nelson to coolly slot home his first league goal and seal the three points for Matt Bloomfield's side.
