I think there will be goals in this and once the game settles down Palace might actually dominate the possession. Strasbourg are playing very well at home and are very confident and on the front foot. The intensity and energy is going to be very high.

Crystal Palace come up against a Strasbourg side flying high in fifth place in Ligue 1 having won seven of their 13 league games.

Liam Rosenior's side are unbeaten in the Conference League this term, winning two and drawing one of their three matches.

Domestically Strasbourg have won five of their six home games at the Stade de la Meinau, so Palace are unlikely to have things all their own way tonight.

Nottingham Forest's historic European Cup triumph over Malmo echoes through the ages, says two-time winning captain John McGovern.

Forest host Malmo in the Europa League on Thursday in a repeat of the 1979 European Cup final.

Trevor Francis' winner earned a 1-0 victory in Munich, just two years after Forest had been in the second tier of English football.

Twelve months later, Brian Clough's side retained the trophy, beating Hamburg 1-0, and McGovern believes their success still makes its mark 46 years on.

"It gives you a warm feeling inside, that you are recognised for something that was so long ago," he told BBC Sport.

"It used to be: 'I used to go and see you' - now it's: 'My dad used to go and see you'. Once it gets to the stage of: 'My grandad used to go and see you', I better think about taking things easy then.

"You didn't know [the scale of what they achieved]. There was no blanket coverage of matches - there was coverage but not to the extent there is now. It's like show business."

So far this season, Forest are 23rd in the Europa League table after beating Porto and drawing 0-0 at Sturm Graz in their past two games. Meanwhile, Malmo have just one point and are second bottom of the 36-team table.

A finish between ninth and 24th would earn Forest a play-off spot as they look to qualify for the last 16.

At the start of the season, winning the Europa League was a realistic target, for both former managers Nuno Espirito Santo and Ange Postecoglou, and McGovern feels they still have a chance.

"You have to go on the present form, we have come through a fantastic win against Liverpool and the players look confident enough," he said.

"[Sean Dyche] inherited a group for players who, in anyone's parlance, are a really good set of lads. He has retained that and tried to educate them a little more about how he'd like them to play.

"He has got them to listen to him and they are playing together as a side. The commitment is there."

  6. Can Chilwell make the England squad?published at 19:56 GMT 27 November

Ben Chilwell's England career looked over when he was frozen out of the Chelsea squad last season and played a bit-part role on loan at Crystal Palace.

But after a positive start to life at Strasbourg, Chilwell believes he can still make England's squad for the World Cup next summer.

"What a story it would be if I went to the World Cup after I was in the [Chelsea] bomb squad and everyone had counted me out 12 months prior," he told BBC Sport.

"It would just be the biggest middle finger to so many people, which to me is a motivation. Chelsea were honest with me and there's no resentment, but of course I've got an ego, so it would be a nice feeling to prove some people wrong."

  7. Forest flying after Anfield winpublished at 19:55 GMT 27 November

Nottingham Forest v Malmo (20:00 GMT)

Confidence could not be higher than it is at Nottingham Forest right now after their 3-0 win over Liverpool at Anfield.

Boss Sean Dyche said: "It just furthers the belief in the group and each other, which is important, and hopefully in ourselves. I've shared with them openly - we can only guide in what we think is the right direction.

"It's down to them and our trust in them to deliver. They're certainly doing that on a daily basis and in the games, and I've been very happy with that."

After a disappointing October, Crystal Palace have won four and drawn one of their last five games in all competitions.

After taking six points from their opening three Conference League games, victory in Strasbourg tonight would boost Palace's hopes of finishing in the top eight and skipping the knockout play-off round altogether.

Oliver Glasner's side are currently ninth in the league phase standings, one point and two places behind tonight's opponents.

Crystal Palace will come up against a familiar face tonght in the shape of Strasbourg left-back Ben Chilwell, who spent last season on loan at Selhurst Park from Chelsea.

"He's a fantastic player and an even better person," Palace boss Oliver Glasner said of the English defender.

"I really enjoyed working with him for a few months and celebrating winning the FA Cup. There will always be a connection there - winning a trophy together stays forever, and I'm pleased he plays a really good role now for Strasbourg."

Chilwell has made eight appearances in Ligue 1 since his free transfer from Chelsea to Strasbourg in the summer.
