  1. Docherty wants 'front foot play' with added 'resilience'published at 14:44 British Summer Time 5 April

    Dundee v St Mirren (15:00)

Dundee manager Tony Docherty tells BBC Sportsound: "I was really pleased with so much about our recent performances. I've tweaked it a little bit at the back.

"We are as strong as we can be in that backline. We've hampered by injuries to these crucial players - centre-halves more often than not.

"Hopefully, we can maintain that bravery and that front foot play that we've got that have allowed us to be the top scorers in the league outwith the Old Firm but now behind that there's more of a resilience about us and an ownership of making sure that the concession of goals is something that we deal with.

"St Mirren and Stephen Robinson deserve a hell of a lot of praise. They've done great and they're a really difficult opponent."

  2. Ten-team top flight anyone?published at 14:42 British Summer Time 5 April

The topic of league reconstruction has reared its head again, with the SPFL's competitions working group drafting proposals in a bid to cut the number of top-flight fixtures.

The current split may have its detractors and can throw up fixture imbalances, but it does keep things interesting across the table.

The suggestion of a reduction to 10 teams has met with widespread opposition from managers and fans.

Let's see those thumbs. Down if you think making the league smaller is the wrong move. Up if you reckon 10 might improve matters.

  4. Goals hard to come by for Countypublished at 14:39 British Summer Time 5 April

    Ross County v Aberdeen (15:00)

Ross County are the lowest scorers in the Premiership with just 31 goals. They have hit the net just once in their past four league games and have failed to score in a league-high 13 matches.

Aberdeen have won just one of their past 12 away league games (D4 L7) and have failed to score in six of their past eight away days.

We've had eight games since the last 0-0 between these two though...

  5. Hibs on a highpublished at 14:37 British Summer Time 5 April

    Rangers v Hibernian (15:00)

    Kheredine Idessane
    BBC Scotland at Ibrox

They haven't won at Ibrox in more than seven years but Hibs arrive in the west with plenty of hope since they haven't lost in the Premiership since 7 December at Celtic Park.

David Gray's side has only lost once in their past 18 matches in all competitions. Again, at Celtic Park.

Recent stats don't make for good reading, however. Hibs lost their last 11 league visits to Govan by an aggregate score of 27-7.

  6. Can Kilmarnock arrest slide?published at 14:34 British Summer Time 5 April

    Kilmarnock v Motherwell (15:00)

Kilmarnock have lost four of their past five league games to slip uncomfortably close to the relegation play-off spot.

Before Motherwell fans get too excited, it should be pointed out that they have lost six of their past eight league games on the road.

The Steelmen could do with taking something today in a bid to set up a potential top-six showdown with Hearts next weekend.

  7. Another big-score for Buddies?published at 14:32 British Summer Time 5 April

    Dundee v St Mirren (15:00)

St Mirren have been banging in the goals too, with nine in their past three outings. They have also conceded 11 in their past four.

The Paisley side will be thinking they need at least four points from today and at home to Ross County next time to have a chance of making the top six again.

  8. Home comfort deserts Dundeepublished at 14:30 British Summer Time 5 April

    Dundee v St Mirren (15:00)

Dundee might still be reeling from coming away with nothing against Rangers last weekend, having led 2-0 and 3-1.

The Dee have picked up a meagre nine points in 2025 - fewer than any other side in the division - and they have gone eight games at home without a win.

They have scored an impressive seven goals in their past two games, but have a bad habit of leaking at the other end.

  9. Ferguson seeks first home winpublished at 14:28 British Summer Time 5 April

    Rangers v Hibernian (15:00)

    Kheredine Idessane
    BBC Scotland at Ibrox

Rangers haven't won at Ibrox since 2 February when they beat Ross County 4-0. Since then they've won at Hearts, Kilmarnock, Fenerbahce, Celtic and Dundee. While losing at home to Queen's Park, St Mirren, Motherwell and Fenerbahce.

Will it be five in a woe for Rangers? Or will Barry Ferguson get his first win in Govan at the third time of asking?

  10. Opportunity knocks in Dingwallpublished at 14:25 British Summer Time 5 April

    Ross County v Aberdeen (15:00)

    Tyrone Smith
BBC Scotland at the Global Energy Stadium

Both teams will see this afternoon’s Dingwall encounter as a great opportunity.

In terms of the Staggies, a home game against a side they have already beaten this season will be one they will feel they can win to preserve slender top six hopes and keep them an arm's-length away from the relegation battle.

With their own top six place now secure, resurgent Aberdeen will be hoping to leapfrog third place Hibs – who go to Rangers.

However, there is no point in looking at what is happening elsewhere unless Jimmy Thelin’s side take care of business themselves.

  11. Five Killie changes, Andrews starts for Wellpublished at 14:23 British Summer Time 5 April

    Kilmarnock v Motherwell (15:00)

After the 5-1 thumping by St Mirren, Kilmarnock boss Derek McInnes has made five changes. Kieran O'Hara replaces Robby McCrorie in goal, and also dropping to the bench are Liam Donnelly, Liam Polworth, Matty Kennedy, and Marley Watkins.

Centre-back Stuart Findlay returns to the starting line-up for the first time since November, and joining him are Danny Armstrong, Rory McKenzie, and Bobby Wales.

As for Motherwell, it's two alterations from the 4-1 loss at Pittodrie. Kofi Balmer replaces Liam Gordon, who is missing altogether through injury, in defence and Kai Andrews is in for Harry Paton, who drops to the bench.

  12. Robertson only change at Dens Parkpublished at 14:22 British Summer Time 5 April

    Dundee v St Mirren (15:00)

Clark Robertson replaces Aaron Donnelly in Dundee's only change to the starting line-up following last weekend's somewhat dramatic 4-3 defeat by Rangers.

  13. Chilvers out long-term; Morris gets nod for Donspublished at 14:20 British Summer Time 5 April

    Ross County v Aberdeen (15:00)

County's top-six chances took a hit this week as Noah Chilvers picked up an ACL injury in training. He drops out, alongside Alex Samuel, Josh Nisbet and George Harmon.

James Brown, Jack Grieves, Nohan Kenneh, and Jordan White come in - meaning County have two big strikers up top as White partners Kieran Phillips.

Just the one change for Jimmy Thelin's Dons, with Shayden Morris given another chance to establish himself as a first-choice winger.

Jeppe Okkels is the man replaced. Aberdeen remain without Dimitar Mitov, Kristers Tobers and Sivert Heltne Nilsen along with long-term absentees Vicente Besuijen, Jamie McGrath and Gavin Molloy.

  14. Cerny returns for Rangers; Hibs unchangedpublished at 14:18 British Summer Time 5 April

    Rangers v Hibernian (15:00)

Rangers appear to have switched to a back four this afternoon.

Jefte comes into the side on the left side of defence, with Ridvan Yilmaz not in the squad.

Vaclav Cerny is back in the line-up as Leon Balogun drops to the bench.

Meanwhile, David Gray goes with the same Hibs XI that swept aside St Johnstone 3-0 last time out.

  15. Falkirk out in front on closing stretchpublished at 14:13 British Summer Time 5 April

    Scottish Championship

Falkirk are closing in on a second successive promotion and a return to the top flight for the first time since they dropped out in 2010.

John McGlynn's side, at home to Morton this afternoon, are eight points clear of Ayr United and Livingston with 15 left to play for.

It looks like Airdrie have too much to do to avoid relegation but the fight to avoid ninth place and a play-off is heating up, with Queen's Park in freefall, just in front of Dunfermline and Hamilton, who meet at East End Park.

    • Airdrieonians v Partick Thistle
    • Dunfermline Athletic v Hamilton Academical
    • Falkirk v Greenock Morton
    • Livingston v Queen's Park

  20. Lots to play for in the Premiershippublished at 14:00 British Summer Time 5 April

John McGinn was in green and white the last time Hibs won at Ibrox back in 2018, so this is a real test of the visitors' 15-match unbeaten run, which has taken them from last in the Premiership to the team nearest second-placed Rangers, who are seeking a first home win under Barry Ferguson.

A Rangers victory would wrap up the second Champions League qualifying place for next season.

With just two games remaining before the split, St Mirren and Motherwell are chasing precious points to try and force their way into the top half.

Ross County will be consigned to the bottom half if they lose at home to Europe-chasing Aberdeen.

Dundee and Kilmarnock are in survival mode, scrambling to move further away from St Johnstone at the bottom and scrapping to avoid 11th place and the play-off it brings.
