Defender Siobhan Hunter said yesterday "stranger things have happened" than Hibernian overturning their first leg loss.

She insisted there is "definitely belief" among the squad they can succeed and prolong their European adventure.

The key to it, though? "Being ready from the first minute."

Hibs were two goals down after 10 minutes in Italy, which "killed the game", but a strike from Eilidh Adams to reduce the deficit has lifted hopes in Leith.

"We have to be ready from minute one," Hunter said.

"I think the two early goals probably killed the game too early for us. So we have to be ready to come out flying.

"They're a massive team and they've got so much quality and they will punish you at that level.

"Football is a strange game. Stranger things have happened. It's a hard task but one we're relishing."

  4. Tale of last week's tapepublished at 18:52 BST 17 September

    Hibernian v Inter Milan (agg 1-4) (19:00)

Inter burst into an early lead with Haley Bugeja shooting across goal from the inside left channel before Olivia Schough doubled the advantage from a wide angle on the opposite side.

Slackness near halfway allowed Inter to build the attack that ended with their third, Elisa Polli converting at close range in the opening minute of the second period.

Eilidh Adams' stunning goal just inside the box following Caley Gibb's low centre pass made it 3-1.

And Benedetta Glionna swayed inside and out before unleashing a powerful shot past Noa Schumacher for the hosts' clincher.

That's an unchanged side from last week in Italy for Hibernian.

They're down to the bare bones on the bench, too.

Kathleen McGovern got a hat-trick on Sunday in the 5-0 trouncing of Montrose, so the home side will be hoping she's got her shooting boots on again.

Just the 31 goals in 33 games last season for the 23-year-old.
