  1. Johnson name in frame for Wanderers jobpublished at 14:55 Greenwich Mean Time 25 January

    Wycombe v Northampton (15:00 GMT)

    Marc Webber
    Final Score at Adams Park

The talk in the home stands is probably more about who will be their next permanent manager, rather than their lofty league status.

Lee Johnson the latest name in the frame.

Not that Wycombe have anything to worry about, they’re free-scoring and could go top today.

Northampton have the lowest number of shots on goal in the league and have lined up with five at the back, which should give you an idea where they think the action will be.

Burton Albion are looking to gain some ground in the relegation scrap but will have their hands full as they host an in-form Rotherham United side.

Shrewsbury Town have their eyes on the same goal with their trip to Charlton Athletic.

Neither Exeter City nor Blackpool have done a whole lot of winning lately but they will both be aiming for a change in fate as the Tangerines visit the Grecians.

Peterborough are also sinking but will try to paddle themselves out of a possible drop zone battle as they welcome Lincoln City, a team that ended their own winless run last time out.

Leyton Orient face a tough challenge against Reading, with the Royals just one place above their hosts in the table.

While Barnsley saw their winning streak come to an end last weekend and will hope to not turn it into a losing run as they greet Stevenage.

    Stockport v Crawley (15:00 GMT)

Crawley Town haven't won in eight league matches in a run which sees them under threat of dropping back to League Two next season.

In 21st place in the table, five points away from escaping the relegation zone - the pressure is beginning to mount.

Not helping is that they now face sixth-placed Stockport, who won their last league match against fellow promotion contenders Reading.

Though it was the only win in five League One games for County and this league has proven itself to be very unpredictable.

With the head-to-head on an equal level - winning one apiece and drawing the other three - can the basement club stun a team in the attic?

  4. Gas heating up as Latics falterpublished at 14:48 Greenwich Mean Time 25 January

Wigan v Bristol Rovers (15:00 GMT)

    Shaun MaloneyImage source, Rex Features

Just when you think Wigan have their act together and are going to launch a push for a play-off place in League One, the Latics will take a stumble.

Tuesday's 2-1 defeat to lowly Burton was a third defeat in four games and left Shaun Maloney's men in 17th, a place above today's visitors Bristol Rovers, and once again closer in points to the bottom four than the top six in a tightly-congested third tier.

Wigan do have an enviable record against the Gas, however, losing only one of their past dozen games against Rovers and claiming 25 points in that time.

The last time Bristol Rovers won at Wigan was April 1990, a run of seven visits from which they have claimed only two points.

They come into this game off the back of a 3-1 win over Barnsley last Saturday and Inigo Calderon's side are seeking to win three games in succession for the first time since October 2022.

  5. Cobblers want to prevent Chairboys taking the thronepublished at 14:44 Greenwich Mean Time 25 January

    Wycombe v Northampton (15:00 GMT)

January might have left Wycombe reeling, but the Chairboys are still on their feet.

Wanderers, under the guidance of Sam Grace after Matt Bloomfield’s, er, somewhat acrimonious departure to Luton, could actually return to the top of the table, with leaders Birmingham having drawn 1-1 at third-placed Wrexham on Thursday night.

Garath McCleary struck a last-gasp winner to see-off Mansfield last Saturday and Wycombe go onto this one unbeaten in eight against Northampton, winning seven of them.

Kevin Nolan’s men suffered their first defeat in four games at home to Lincoln last weekend and are seeking to avoid a third defeat of the season against Wycombe, having already lost 2-1 in the league and 2-0 in the EFL Cup at home this term.

The Cobblers do have a fine record at Adams Park, losing just one of their past nine visits since 2002, though that came last March in a 2-0 defeat, and if they can spring a surprise with victory today it would mean back-to-back away wins for the first time in more than a year, and give them a useful boost in their battle to stay clear of the basement battle.

  8. 'Bradford were levels apart'published at 14:41 Greenwich Mean Time 25 January

    FT: Bradford 3-0 Walsall

    Filipe Morais
Ex-Bradford and Bolton winger on BBC Radio Leeds

I'm over the moon. It was so entertaining. The football that Bradford were playing and the goals that they scored.

They were levels apart against the league leaders.

They really showed what kind of side they are when they are at full throttle.

  9. FULL-TIMEpublished at 14:30 Greenwich Mean Time 25 January

    Cambridge United 3-2 Mansfield

Bonkers game in a bonkers division.

Michael Morrison and Josh Stokes had Cambridge 2-0 up inside seven minutes and Ryan Loft lashed a third two minutes into the second half.

Job done for the basement boys? Oh no. Wily old Nigel Clough changed the game with his subs, George Maris fired one back against his old club and Lee Gregory smashed home a penalty to set-up a grandstand finale, but the Us held on to end their winless streak and leave Garry Monk punching the air.

  10. Postpublished at 14:28 Greenwich Mean Time 25 January

    Cambridge United 3-2 Mansfield

Mansfield are desperate to get it forward at every turn, knowing that Cambridge conceded a last-gasp equaliser in a 2-2 draw at Bolton last Saturday, presumably.

We're seven minutes into added time... I reckon at least another two or three though.

  11. FULL-TIMEpublished at 14:28 Greenwich Mean Time 25 January

    Bradford 3-0 Walsall

Walsall's winning run is halted at nine as Bradford shine to go fourth.

The Saddlers posed hardly any threat throughout the match, while Bradford dazzled in the winter sun as Alex Pattison put away yet another stunning goal to take the hosts three up, giving the Bantams plenty of confidence.

Though some nerves may have creeped in when Jack Shepherd conceded a penalty, they were over as quickly as they came when Danny Johnson's poor spot kick was easily saved by the home keeper.

Not the Saddlers' greatest 90 minutes but certainly Bradford's day.

  12. INJURY TIMEpublished at 14:27 Greenwich Mean Time 25 January

    Bradford 3-0 Walsall

Five minutes on the clock but that's of no comfort to Walsall.

A win is all but out of sight and they still need to be wary of the Bantams searching for a fourth goal.

Tommy Leigh is free in the box after the Walsall defender isn't able to clear a long diagonal pass and slips.

Leigh lets loose but Walsall keeper Tommy Simkin denies him a first goal in Bradford colours.

  13. FULL-TIMEpublished at 14:25 Greenwich Mean Time 25 January

    MK Dons 0-0 AFC Wimbledon

AFC Wimbledon's Josh Kelly looks on disappointedImage source, Rex Features

One final chance for the visitors just before the full-time whistle!

A poor back pass from Nathan Thompson almost allows Marcus Browne in but Craig MacGillivray in the MK Dons goal gets there just before him to save what would have been a certain winner.

Full-time at Stadium MK and the shares are spoiled between these two bitter rivals.

Well in truth this one didn't ever live up to expectation with the last kick of the game proving the best chance to break the deadlock.

This one compared to other clashes between these two won't live long in the memory and honours even is the right result.

  14. FULL-TIMEpublished at 14:25 Greenwich Mean Time 25 January

    Huddersfield 0-1 Bolton

The League One promotion race is the gift that keeps on giving...

Aaron Collins wins it for the Trotters with his 14th goal of the season, taken nicely after some suspect home defending, it must be said.

Huddersfield's 16-match unbeaten run is over. That's their first league defeat since 1 October. The Terriers huffed and puffed but the Trotters are the ones who have blown the house down with their first win in four.

Booooos from the home fans as Town lose ground in the automatic promotion race.

Bolton are right back in the play-off race, and their players and interim coaching team are celebrating with their fans as if they've just won the final at Wembley.

This feels a big result in a big week in the third tier.

  15. Postpublished at 14:25 Greenwich Mean Time 25 January

    Huddersfield 0-1 Bolton

Huddersfield are pushing forward at every turn, but cannot open up the dogged defence of Bolton Wanderers.

Into five additional minutes at the John Smith's. The home fans are not having fun.

  16. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 14:24 Greenwich Mean Time 25 January

    Bradford 3-0 Walsall

Bradford boss Graham Alexander gives Callum Johnson a run out in the closing minutes as Bradley Halliday is withdrawn.

  17. goal

GOAL Cambridge United 3-2 Mansfieldpublished at 14:22 Greenwich Mean Time 25 January

    Lee Gregory pen (90+1 min)

    Game on.

That's 10 for the season, and three against Cambridge, for Lee Gregory. He holds his nerve to lash high into the top corner past the despairing dive of sub keeper Jack Stevens.

It's going to be a nervy final eight or nine minutes for the home side, who led 3-0, remember.

  18. Postpublished at 14:22 Greenwich Mean Time 25 January

    Bradford 3-0 Walsall

Walsall midfielder Oisin McEntee takes a punt at distance but his curling shot falls into the palms of Bradford keeper Sam Walker.

It does, however, give the Saddlers their only shot on target in free play.

Too little, too late, too poor a performance.

  19. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 14:22 Greenwich Mean Time 25 January

    Cambridge United 3-1 Mansfield

Zeno Rossi is helped from the field - he might have dislocated his shoulder in conceding that spot kick. Which has yet to be taken.

We'll have at least eight or nine additional minutes...

  20. 'Everything that could go wrong, has gone wrong'published at 14:21 Greenwich Mean Time 25 January

    Bradford 3-0 Walsall

    Paul Joannou
Walsall summariser on BBC Radio WM

It feels like everything that could go wrong, has gone wrong for Walsall.

What they've been good at all season is finding answers and on a number of occasions in the second half.

But on this occasion they haven't.
