    England

England manager Sarina Wiegman on whether she expects a similar situation the next time a player is dropped: "I can't control that. As I say all the time I can never control behaviours of other people. What I try to do is communicate at all times and I'll make decisions on what I think is the best team to compete and I make decisions to win.

"No, I haven't spoken to Mary."

  2. Wiegman not worried about squad divisionspublished at 11:35 GMT

    England

England manager Sarina Wiegman responding to BBC Sport's Emma Sanders on Mary Earps' book potentially causing squad divisions: "I'm not worried about that. When there are teams there are always dynamics going on. We're working with people and everyone is different. No matter what the topic is there are always conversations going on.

"Sometimes you need more and sometimes you need less. I want my door to be open at all times to have conversations when needed or if someone needs support and the other way round if I need to challenge a player for whatever reason.

"So there are always conversations going on and we're trying to get everyone going in the same direction on the pitch."

  3. 'Can we talk football?'published at 11:32 GMT

    England

Sarina Weigman on the upcoming England matches: "Can we talk football? It's your job to ask these questions, but it's nice to talk football.

"This is the last camp of this very special year, playing at Wembley with over 80,000 tickets sold. We also go to Southampton which is really nice as that was my very first game in 2021 when I came in."

England boss Sarina Wiegman on if she has spoken to Chelsea boss Sonia Bompastor and Hannah Hampton after Mary Earps book release: "I have a very close working relationship with coaches, also Sonia. We had conversations. I speak to players in between camps anyway, unfortunately Hannah is injured for this camp but I did speak to her."

  5. 'I make decisions to win'published at 11:28 GMT

    England

England manager Sarina Wiegman on Mary Earps: "I feel good. We have conversations with different players all the time. What my reality is and what someone else's reality is can be different because how you experience things is very individual. I just know what I want to do is create an environment where we speak up and have clarity.

"Also, I make decisions to win. And what I've said all the time is that we have two incredible goalkeepers and at the end I made that decision to the one I came to and that's what it is for me.

"What I should say also is I really, really enjoyed working with Mary [Earps]. She's retired now. We had incredible times and I'll always cherish that.

"What I've tried to do is to be as honest as possible and have a really good working relationship and I think we had that. I can't control the other things. So I just stick with what I want to do, how I want to do it, and to be as clear as possible and to make decisions to win."

  6. Postpublished at 11:26 GMT

On the squad itself, Sarina Wiegman is asked why she has not called up Lauren James following her recent return to action with Chelsea.

"She's moving forwards well, it is just too early. She just needs a little more time, more football."

  7. 'I can't react with anything more'published at 11:24 GMT

    England

England manager Sarina Wiegman on Mary Earps: "That's her book, there's been a lot of response on it. I don't think I can react anything more because there's a lot of private conversations that I always keep private. I'm not sure what you want more from that."

  8. Postpublished at 11:22 GMT

BBC Sport's Emma Sanders asks whether Wiegman is concerned by potential divisions in the camp.

"No, I'm not worried about that," says the Dutch coach. "No matter the topic, there are always conversations going on."

Is she disappointed about private conversations within the squad being made public?

"I will always keep things private, that keeps trust and means players will be able to come to me. We create an environment for people to be themselves and be challenged if necessary."

  9. 'Can we talk football?'published at 11:19 GMT

Sarina Wiegman says she has spoken to Hannah Hampton, who is absent from this squad due to injury, about Mary Earps' comments.

No waiting around, the first question for Sarina Wiegman is about Mary Earps' book.

"I can't react any more, these conversations I always keep private," says Wiegman of Earps.

"We always have conversations with different players. My reality can be different from others, we experience things differently. But I always have clarity with my players, and make decisions to win.

"We had two incredible goalkeepers, and I made my decision. I enjoyed working with Mary, we had incredible times.

"We had an honest working relationship, I just want to be clear and honest as possible."

  14. Who could make their debuts?published at 11:12 GMT

As well as a first call-up for London City Lionesses’ forward Freya Godfrey, there are four other uncapped players in the squad.

Goalkeeper Sophie Baggaley and defenders Anouk Denton and Grace Fisk (pictured) all weren't initially in the last England squad but were subsequently called up to cover injuries. They retain their places.

Orlando Pride keeper Anna Moorhouse, a regular back-up in the England squad, is also selected.

  15. Who's not the new England squad?published at 11:09 GMT

Defender Jess Carter has been given time to recover from the conclusion of the National Women's Soccer League play-offs in the United States, although Washington Spirit centre-back Esme Morgan is included despite starting in Saturday's 2-0 win over Portland Thorns.

Chelsea goalkeeper Hannah Hampton, who won the Yashin Trophy for best goalkeeper at the Ballon d'Or awards, has a thigh injury and misses out.

Euros star Michelle Agyemang, 19, is not in the squad after injuring her anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in last month's 3-0 win over Australia.

Captain Leah Williamson, 28, and Manchester City's Alex Greenwood, 32, are also absent with knee injuries, while Arsenal youngster Katie Reid, 19, misses out with an ACL injury having received her first senior call-up in October.

As expected, Lauren Hemp is back in the squad after a very impressive display against Manchester United on Saturday - her first start since September.

It will be welcome news for Chelsea supporters not to see Lauren James in the squad given she is yet to start a club match for them since March and has only had two substitute appearances since she picked up an ankle injury in the Euro 2025 final.

The exciting addition as a result is London City Lionesses' Freya Godfrey, who has been a regular for the England youth teams and has shone in the WSL so far this season.

Interestingly, Jess Park has been named as a forward in the squad as opposed to being with the midfielders as usual.

  17. Hemp returns to England foldpublished at 11:04 GMT

Forward Lauren Hemp has returned to the England squad for the first time since Euro 2025.

Manchester City's Hemp was out with an ankle injury for two months but featured in her side's victories over Everton and Manchester United.

The 25-year-old has starred regularly under Sarina Wiegman and was part of the European title winning squads in 2022 and last summer.
