  1. Looking to the futurepublished at 10:56 GMT

There could be a few lesser-known names in the England squad today as Sarina Wiegman builds a team for the next tournament cycle.

Jess Park, who has impressed in midfield for Manchester United this season, could feature after being forced to withdraw from the last squad through injury.

Aston Villa midfielder Lucia Kendall (pictured) could also return after impressing in the 3-0 win over Australia, as might Arsenal defender Taylor Hinds.

Brighton striker Michelle Agyemang and Arsenal's Katie Reid will sadly be absent, however, as both have suffered season-ending knee injuries.

  2. Will Lauren James return for England?published at 10:52 GMT

One name who might feature in today's squad announcement is Lauren James, who missed the previous pair of friendlies with injury.

James sustained the injury at Euro 2025, which severely hampered her performances in the latter stages and caused her to miss the start of Chelsea's season.

The 23-year-old told BBC Sport that fans were "too quick to judge" and her injury problems and criticism during the tournament affected how much she was able to enjoy the Lionesses' historic triumph in Switzerland.

James has returned to action for Chelsea in the past week with two sub appearances. Whether she is fit enough for the England squad remains to be seen.

  3. Who will play in goal during these friendlies?published at 10:50 GMT

Chelsea boss Sonia Bompastor confirmed goalkeeper Hannah Hampton will be sidelined "for a few weeks" with a quad injury picked up against Arsenal earlier this month.

Asked if Hampton was likely to miss England's upcoming friendlies, the Chelsea boss replied: "Yeah, it could be the case. Yes."

Hampton, who was England's starting keeper at Euro 2025, missed the friendly against Brazil last month, with Khiara Keating making her debut. Anna Moorhouse and Sophie Baggaley were the keepers on the bench.

We await to see who picks up the gloves later this month.

  4. Earps comments 'hard to take'published at 10:44 GMT

Former England striker on the Women's Football Weekly podcast

I feel like we almost have this unwritten oath when you're in a team, that the togetherness and what happens in the dressing room, in training, and in your bubble, stays within the team and that environment.

I was there in 2022 and I would protect my team with my life. I would never go into what happened within that environment. That's not for me to speak about.

Mary has gone into what she wanted to. What I would say is when Sarina [Wiegman] came in, we built a culture, philosophy, togetherness, and that family-like feel so it felt unbreakable and beautiful at the same time.

It just feels like that has been penetrated a little bit and that is quite hard to take.

  5. The fallout from Earps' bookpublished at 10:41 GMT

This will be the first time Sarina Wiegman has addressed the media since critical comments by former England goalkeeper Mary Earps were published.

It is rare for a current player to release a book detailing conversations and events with people who remain in the game.

But in her recently published book, of which extracts were released in the Guardian, Earps claimed she told Wiegman she was rewarding "bad behaviour" by recalling Hampton to the England squad, having previously been dropped for being "disruptive and unreliable".

Following the negative reaction, Earps told BBC Sport in an exclusive interview that she had not written the book to "tear anyone down".

But her comments have proved divisive, and it seems likely Wiegman will be asked about them today.

Welcome to our live text coverage of today's England squad announcement and media conference live from Wembley.

Lionesses manager Sarina Wiegman will be addressing the press at around 11.15 GMT ahead of England's final two matches of 2025 - friendlies against China and Ghana.
