I don’t think Newcastle will sell Isak to another team in the Premier League, unless they offer £150m, so I reckon he’ll go to Real Madrid next summer!

How does Elgana feel? Left to team up with his international pal but now we see he wants to leave. (Not a sad Forest fan at all honestly!!)

    Good question.

Newcastle were interested in Hugo Ekitike before he joined Liverpool this month.

They also missed out on Liam Delap, Joao Pedro and Bryan Mbeumo.

Striker Callum Wilson left this summer after failing to agree a new deal.

Without Isak, and with European football next term, they look desperately short up front without spending.

As much as this is a pipe dream I would love United to go in for Isak - Garnacho + Antony / Sancho + £70mil?

Out of interest, do you think Alexander Isak will be a Newcastle player by the end of the transfer window?

Thumbs up for yes. Down for no.

  9. Who could Isak join?published at 15:25 British Summer Time 24 July

With the Swede wanting to explore options for a move away, it begs the question - who could he join?

A source has told BBC Sport that Liverpool are still interested in signing the 25-year-old, despite signing Eintracht Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitike for an initial £69m.

While Arsenal are on the verge of signing striker Viktor Gyokeres for £63.5m, Chelsea have also spent big this transfer window bringing in strikers Liam Delap and Joao Pedro. The Blues are also strongly linked to Xavi Simons.

So where does that leave Isak?

Maybe Chelsea will go for Isak in a swap deal - Isak for Sterling, Felix, Chilwell, Disasi?

As an Arsenal fan I’d have Isak over Gyokeres but no way we will be getting him to the Emirates, we just about were able to afford Gyokeres, Isak is going to cost significantly more.

  12. Alexander Isak - How the story has unfoldedpublished at 15:15 British Summer Time 24 July

I have a feeling this one may take a few bullet points - and may take a few more before the summer is over and done with.

    • Liverpool have had a strong interest in Alexander Isak since the start of the transfer window.
    • Newcastle United have a £70m bid rejected for Hugo Ekitike.
    • Despite interest in a new forward, the Magpies insist star striker Isak is not for sale.
    • With Newcastle standing firm, Liverpool move for Ekitike.
    • The Magpies cool their interest in the French forward.
    • The Reds then have a bid of £69m with up to £10m in add-ons accepted for Ekitike.
    • Isak misses Newcastle's pre-season friendly against Celtic with a reported thigh injury.
    • Manager Eddie Howe reveals post-match that he expects Isak to join the team for their trip to Singapore.
    • The Sweden forward is not named in Newcastle's 30-man squad for their tour of Asia.
    • Numerous reports start rumbling suggesting Isak wants out of the north east.
    • BBC Sport confirm reports that the 25-year-old is looking to explore options away from Newcastle this summer.

As a Newcastle fan its a bit agonising to see players that we are interested in moving to ‘big six clubs’. Now this is happening to our own players.

I'm not surprised Isak wants to move. He's probaby been waiting for Newcastle to sign some players capable of challenging in the Champions League. So far we've signed one. It's not good enough.

  15. Isak's Newcastle recordpublished at 15:03 British Summer Time 24 July

Newcastle United's Alexander Isak has become one of the Premier League's most lethal strikers since his arrival on the scene and he only appears to be getting better.

His numbers have increased year-on-year to a point where only Liverpool's Mohamed Salah sat ahead of him in the race for the golden boot in 2024-25.

    Isak's record by season:

    • 2022-23: 29 appearances, 11 goals & three assists
    • 2023-24: 40 appearances, 25 goals & two assists
    • 2024-25: 42 appearances, 27 goals & six assists

  17. Isak's incredible value risepublished at 14:57 British Summer Time 24 July

Alexander Isak's form since moving to Newcastle United in summer 2022 has seen him skyrocket himself to one of the most valuable forwards on the market.

The Magpies signed the Sweden international from Real Sociedad for £60m but after 62 goals in 109 appearances for Newcastle - a price of close to double that will likely be needed to prize him away from the north east.

Transfermarkt currently has him valued at £105m but it will seemingly take even more than that for a club to claim his signature.

Newcastle have remained adamant throughout the window so far that they will not sell their star man - but time will tell.
