Emily Murphy's 89th-minute goal completed a comeback victory for the Republic of Ireland against Turkey to keep their chances of finishing top of Women's Nations League Group B2 alive.

Kader Hancar had put the hosts in Istanbul ahead nine minutes after the restart following a first half of few chances.

However two goals in the final 10 minutes, the first an own goal from Busem Seker before Murphy's dramatic winner, means that the Republic of Ireland remain three points behind group leaders Slovenia.

The Slovenians will now travel to Cork for deciding game against the Republic of Ireland on Tuesday night with Carla Ward knowing that if her side are victorious and can better their head-to-head record, they can secure top spot.

Slovenia won 4-0 at home when the two sides met in February.

The visitors dominated the early proceedings but struggled with their final deliveries into the box with the home side having the first shot on target of the game in the 11th minute when Sejde Abrahamson's effort from a tight angle was stopped by Courtney Brosnan.

Jessie Stapleton's header then proved a comfortable save for Selda Akgoz before no one could steer home Ilayda Civelek's cross at the other end.

Just after the half-hour mark, Lucy Quinn's shot looked like it was going to dip over Selda Akgoz, but the home side's stopper palmed the chance over the crossbar.

Chances remained few and far between until the final five minutes of the half when both teams had opportunities.

The home side came close with Brosnan forced to deflect Miray Cin's strike and Aoife Mannion denied Ebru Topcu's follow-up effort.

Ward's side then pushed forward through Denise O'Sullivan, who found Katie McCabe at the edge of the box with Akgoz making a diving save to deny the chance.

McCabe had another opportunity through the resulting corner, but a vital clearance by Busem Seker thwarted the chance.

In the final few seconds of the half, Abbie Larkin's pass put Amber Barrett through on goal but, from a tight angle, she sent her effort wide.

It was the perfect start to the second half for the home side who broke the deadlock just nine minutes after the restart when Ilayda Civelek charged forward and into the box and found the onrushing Hancar, who fired between the legs of Jessie Stapleton and past the diving Brosnan.

Ward turned to her bench to bring on fresh legs and shuffle her attacking options and her side levelled the game with just 10 minutes to go when Busem Seker tried to deflect Megan Campbell's long throw to safety, but instead headed the ball over Akgoz and into the back of her own net.

The away side continued to push for a winner and their persistence paid off when Abrahamson misjudged Champions League winner McCabe's cross and substitute Murphy's first-time finish flew past Akgoz.

Turkey tried to quell the celebrations and came close to equalising in the final seconds but Ebru Topcu's shot from the edge of the box was inches wide of the right-hand post.
