First-half goals from Callum Hendry and Joe White handed MK Dons a narrow League Two win at Chesterfield.
Hendry and White scored before the break, with Darren Oldaker replying for the hosts with 15 minutes remaining.
On-loan Blackburn winger Dilan Markanday's early low shot was turned wide by Dons goalkeeper Tom McGill, while Bailey Hobson also put an effort on target – which was deflected wide – as Chesterfield tried their luck.
But the visitors took an 18th-minute lead when Liam Kelly's quickly-taken free-kick found Hendry, who held off a defender before firing the ball into the net.
Ellis Harrison threatened to put MK Dons further ahead soon afterwards with a well-struck shot which forced a good save from Max Thompson, who palmed it wide.
Chesterfield's Armando Dobra tried a low shot which was deflected just wide and Tom Naylor tested McGill with a firm drive.
Just before the break, White made it 2-0 when he ran unchallenged and fired low beyond Thompson.
Hendry was through on goal early in the second half but Thompson managed to keep the ball out.
Markanday twice went close before Oldaker pulled a goal back with a superb free-kick after 76 minutes but it proved a mere consolation.
