Vikingur 2-1 Linfield
Vikingur's Stefan Radosavlevic is cautioned for a late challenge on Kieran Offord.
Santa Clara struck three times in the first half to take control of the tie
Larne have a mountain to climb in the second leg of their Uefa Conference League third round qualifying tie after a 3-0 defeat by Santa Clara in the first leg at the Ballymena Showgrounds.
The Portuguese side blew Larne away with three goals in a ruthless first-half display courtesy of Wendel Silva and two from Gabriel Silva.
Nathan Rooney's side improved in the second half, but the damage was done in the first half, and they were indebted to goalkeeper Rohan Ferguson for keeping the score down.
The Invermen, who reached the league phase of this competition last year, will need to produce an unlikely comeback in Portugal next week to have any chance of progressing to the play-off round.
Larne started the game positively, but it was Wendel Silva who opened the scoring at the other end just after the quarter hour mark.
He finished neatly first time from Gabriel Silva's delivery before provider turned goal scorer on 33 minutes.
The Brazilian winger played a one-two with Federico Venancio and finished into the empty net.
He netted again three minutes later as the Larne defence was pierced by Adriano's pass and Gabriel tucked home via the inside of the post.
Larne did stem the flow but struggled to test Gabriel Batista in the Santa Clara goal.
Ferguson made a good save to deny Vinicius Lopes from extending the visitors' advantage just after the restart.
Larne dug in and made things difficult in the second half, but it took a diving block from substitute James Simpson and a few more superb Ferguson saves to deny Serginho and Lopes respectively.
