1. Arsenal to face Lyon in semi-finalspublished at 09:10 Greenwich Mean Time 27 March

Lyon 4-1 Bayern Munich (Agg: 6-1)

Lyon comfortably beat Bayern Munich to set up a Women's Champions League semi-final tie with Arsenal.

Eight-time winners Lyon went into Wednesday's game with a 2-0 lead from the first leg but missed a number of early chances and went behind on the night at Groupama Stadium.

Klara Buhl opened the scoring for the visitors, but Joe Montemurro's side made amends for their wasted efforts and Melchie Dumornay restored their two-goal lead in the tie just 27 seconds after the break, heading past Maria Luisa Grohs from Kadidiatou Diani's cross.

Giulia Gwinn was punished for a heavy touch on the edge of her own penalty area as Diani pounced to sidefoot a first-time finish. Diani then turned provider again as her low drive across goal teed up Tabitha Chawinga to fire home from close range.

Bayern rarely threatened again and Lyon saw out the game with a late Ada Hegerberg strike as they reached the last four of the competition for a 14th time.

Semi-final ties will be played on 19-20 and 26-27 April.

    Arsenal

Arsenal goalscorer Alessia Russo speaking to TNT Sports: "It was amazing. Still feels a bit surreal right now, I've not really let it sink in yet. We had a lot of belief all week, we knew what we wanted to do, we knew what we were capable of as a team and we have done that tonight."

On if it was her best night in an Arsenal shirt: "For sure. Hopefully long may they continue but long may they continue."

On VAR denying her hat-trick "VAR ruined that one but I should have scored a third anyway without the two offside. I will look back and go again but tonight we will enjoy the night."

On what was said at half-time: "We knew we were doing well in the first half. We felt good. We felt like we had momentum and we said we wanted to be more patient in the final third because we knew we needed to score. Chloe put in some great crosses which set up the first two goals and then we were persistent and probably should have had more to be fair.

The week has been busy but we have all been locked in. Tonight is when you enjoy the football. We enjoyed the crowd and we will enjoy tonight."

On playing Lyon next: "I didn't know they won, nice. We will get ready and go for it."

On if Arsenal can go all the way: "Yeah. I have full belief in the whole team and the staff. We will get back to work and go again."

It was electric. It was a masterful game plan from Renee Slegers and well executed by the Arsenal players.

They had to go for it. They had so many opportunities in the first half and managed to capitalise in the second and that's what counts.

Real Madrid had nothing left and Arsenal are through.

That midfield battle was won by Arsenal. Without a doubt that Arsenal team ran all over Real Madrid. They passed the halfway line maybe once or twice with their key players.

Arsenal in those 10 minutes where they scored three goals were absolutely relentless and that's what you have to be at this level.

Fair play to Arsenal, they were outstanding tonight.

It was the mentality, it was the approach. They fully believed that they could come back and turn this around.

Alessia Russo was absolutely possessed tonight and she got on the end of everything, even if they all didn't count.

It was absolutely brilliant to watch, I'm so proud of the girls.

I'm absolutely buzzing for that group. You see the togetherness, you see the staff. Arsenal have supported the women’s team and they have been unbelievable. This is a massive moment for them. They absolutely fully deserved it.

I've got goosebumps right now. All these scarves in the air, the Arsenal team are in the centre of the pitch, singing, swaying to the music.

Mariona Caldentey was absolutely phenomenal tonight alongside Kim Little. They owned that game. Real Madrid had no answers.

I'm really pleased for Alessia Russo. I think she got a lot of criticism at the beginning of the season. She was probably doing too much work for the team, and not being selfish enough as a striker. She showed a real maturity about her display today.

In the second half her selection of runs were really cute and really clever.

Everything she touched went in the back of the net.

She's got the goals that have got Arsenal into a semi-final of the Champions League.

Their season has not gone to plan, but Arsenal boss Renee Slegers has got them back on track in this competition and this will go down as her most significant victory since taking over in January.

The Gunners had been completely dominant in the first half, having 26 touches in the visitors' box and six shots - but Chloe Kelly's inviting crosses had gone untouched.

But Arsenal had nothing to show for their efforts and momentum had swung in Real Madrid's favour when the teams headed down the tunnel at half-time.

However, the game - and the home side's fortunes - transformed within 43 seconds of the second period.

Buoyed by an optimistic home crowd and their strong first-half display, Arsenal were rewarded for a blistering response.

It has been 18 years since they last reached the final of this competition - when they won a historic quadruple - but they can start believing again.

Brilliant second half from the girls. It needed a couple of them to have their best half of football for the club and Kelly and Russo did (apart from her late miss). Foord and McCabe brilliant too. They made injury time a bit more nervy than it should have been!

Arsenal completed a brilliant comeback to reach the Women's Champions League semi-finals as Alessia Russo's double helped them beat Real Madrid at Emirates Stadium.

In a thrilling second-half period, the Gunners showed their ruthless streak to overturn their first-leg deficit and win 3-2 on aggregate.

Russo eased the growing anxiety in the stands when she met Chloe Kelly's curling cross within a minute of the restart to give them the lead on the night.

Former Barcelona midfielder Mariona Caldentey joined in the fun three minutes later when she headed in another fine Kelly cross, before Russo doubled her tally in the 59th minute with a close-range finish.

This result is the biggest yet under manager Renee Slegers and means Arsenal still remain in contention to win silverware this season, having already exited the Women's FA Cup and sit eight points off Women's Super League leaders Chelsea.
