    FT: Crusaders 3-4 Carrick Rangers

    Nathan Rooney
    Larne manager on BBC Sportsound

It was a controversial game from start to finish and the officiating, I think the referee found himself out of his depth.

    FT: Portadown 0-1 Glentoran

Glentoran boss Declan Devine speaking on BBC Sportsound following their narrow win: "It was a really tough game, we knew Portadown are a good side and have a really good attacking threat here at Shamrock Park. We had lost a lot of players leading into this, so it was important we didn't feel sorry for ourselves."

"It was a tough battle but a bit of magic from Jordan Jenkins to set up the goal and a great finish from Danny Amos."

  8. Rocks' second goal 'hit and hope' - Ervinpublished at 17:16 British Summer Time 9 August

    FT: Glenavon 0-2 Ballymena United

Ballymena United boss Jim Ervin speaking on BBC Sportsound about Donal Rocks' stunning second goal: "We were getting ready to hook him and he has just absolutely laced it. He told us he laced it as his legs were like jelly! It was hit and hope but you take that."

On winning their opening game for the first time in five years: "The performance was pretty good, we knew Glenavon would come at us, but we stood up. Three points, two goals and a clean sheet which is a big thing. It is only the first game, so we are not going to get carried away."

Glenavon boss Paddy McLaughlin will be disappointed with his side's lack of attacking threat.

  12. FULL-TIMEpublished at 16:53 British Summer Time 9 August

    Portadown 0-1 Glentoran

Full-time at Shamrock Park. Danny Amos’ first-half strike is enough for Glentoran to start the season with three points. Niall Currie's men had their moments, but never really made Andrew Mills work.

The Glens see it out with a bit to spare.

  13. YELLOW CARDpublished at 16:51 British Summer Time 9 August

    Portadown 0-1 Glentoran

James Singleton goes into the book after stopping Lee Chapman in full flow. Right call from Shane Andrews.

  14. Postpublished at 16:51 British Summer Time 9 August

    Glenavon 0-2 Ballymena United

David McDaid curls a free kick over - that might be Glenavon's final chance as we're now deep in injury time.

  15. goal

GOAL - Crusaders 3-4 Carrick Rangerspublished at 16:51 British Summer Time 9 August

    Jack Scott (Pen 90+2 mins)

    Can you believe it!

Joe Crowe with a cross from the left that struck the hand of Robbie Weir and Mark Dillon pointed to the spot.

Up stepped Jack Scott again to score his second penalty of the day, slotting into bottom right-hand side of the net. What drama

    Portadown 0-1 Glentoran

A few minutes to go, and Declan Devine’s telling his players to take their time whenever the ball’s out of play.

No surprises there - the Glens are happy to run down the clock.

  19. Postpublished at 16:47 British Summer Time 9 August

    Crusaders 3-3 Carrick Rangers

My goodness, Carrick almost steal it.

A cross from the left is totally mis-judged by Crues' keeper Musa Dibaga, allowing Paul Heatley to sneak in behind and shoot from an acute angle.

The ball just runs across the face of goal and cleared. So close.

  20. Postpublished at 16:45 British Summer Time 9 August

    Glenavon 0-2 Ballymena United

Stephen Mallon, with his trademark look of socks around his ankles, cuts inside and fires a curling shot which Sean O'Neill comfortably holds.

That's about as stretched as the United keeper has been up to this point.
