I know Chelsea fans won't agree but it's been great seeing a more competitive WSL this season. The inevitability of top teams winning isn't there and that can only be a good thing.

  2. Ho's game changing influencepublished at 14:19 GMT 16 November

    Tottenham v Arsenal (14:30 GMT)

The arrival of Head Coach Martin Ho in the summer has been a gamechanger for Tottenham's fortunes, with the Lilywhites winning five of their opening eight games of the season.

They are much harder to beat, tougher to keep out, and take games to opponents with a Ho's signature high pressing, energetic style of play.

In his short time in charge Ho has also fostered a new mentality in the group, which club captain Beth England says has left the players "feeling more confident within ourselves".

Having passed all of his early tests with flying colours, all that remains for Ho to achieve now is to claim his first big scalp as a WSL boss.

Right, let's turn our attentions to the final game of the day, the north London derby.

Not a bad way to round off the weekend, hey?

  4. 'We're learning everyday'published at 14:14 GMT 16 November

    FT: Liverpool 1-1 Chelsea

    Liverpool

More from Liverpool's Lily Woodham speaking to Sky Sports: "I think in the first half we showed more composure on the ball and in the second half it dropped off a little bit but we knew, if we got a point today, it would put us in a great position for the next few weeks because we have some big games coming up before the Christmas break.

"He [Gareth Taylor] has been really good with us, we're learning everyday, trying new things and we're just going to stick to that and see from there."

Here's how the WSl table now stands after those early results.

The big winners of the afternoon so far are West Ham, who move off the bottom thanks to their first win of the campaign.

Either Tottenham or Arsenal could snatch third spot with a win in the final game of the day.

  6. 'We knew their centre-backs were slow'published at 14:10 GMT 16 November

    FT: Liverpool 1-1 Chelsea

    Liverpool

Liverpool's goalscorer Beata Olsson speaking to Sky Sports: "Lily [Woodham] did all the hard work and played the ball through to me. We knew we were quick up front and they were slow with their centre-backs.

"Everything we do sets us up for these small moments so I'm really happy to score the goals but, I think I'm just in the position to receive really great balls and the whole team is behind it."

  7. 'We've stuck together as a group'published at 14:08 GMT 16 November

    FT: Liverpool 1-1 Chelsea

    Liverpool

Liverpool's Lily Woodham speaking to Sky Sports: "From the performance, it shows how hard we work. We've had a lot going on at the club and we've stuck together as a group. We know we need to be better and taking that point will just boost us."

"We know playing against teams like Chelsea and others of the top four it's going to be a challenge but when you stick together and have that grit and determination and nick a goal, I'm happy with that."

  8. 'The win was coming'published at 14:05 GMT 16 November

    FT: West Ham 3-1 Everton

    West Ham United

West Ham striker Shekiera Martinez speaking to Sky Sports: "I'm just really happy about the win. I think we deserved it and played really well. I'm really proud of the team and happy."

On her goal: "I'm really happy that Riko [Ueki] played me the ball. I think the touch was good. The defenders go quick on the floor so I just had to chip it over. I'm really happy with the goal."

  9. 'Liverpool got a building block today'published at 14:03 GMT 16 November

    FT: Liverpool 1-1 Chelsea

    Abbie McManus
Former Manchester United defender on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra at St Helens Stadium

What a game. Fair play to Liverpool, they've defended for their lives and earned their point. Chelsea will walk away frustrated they've lost points and with city being top of the tree, they've not put much pressure on them.

But Liverpool got a building block today, it's obviously a bit disappointing for them that West Ham won which puts them bottom, but it's something Gareth Taylor can show the girls and say 'you know what, you've just taken two points off Chelsea today'.

Chelsea will walk away as if this is a loss for them. The squad depth and quality of their squad should not be coming here and taking home a point - that's a fact. They'll be disappointed but fair play to Liverpool.

  10. 'So happy that we finally got the win'published at 14:01 GMT 16 November

    FT: West Ham 3-1 Everton

    West Ham United

West Ham goalscorer Amber Tysiak, speaking to Sky Sports: "We kept on believing, kept on working really hard. We played great and it has been coming and we're so happy that we finally got the win.

"We want to score more goals and you could see today it does not matter who scores or how we score, we just want to get more.

"We came out of the international break brilliantly and finally the three points."

Some of these sides have become much more comfortable playing as minnows against the top teams than competing to beat teams at a similar level. Everton put a real scare into Man City last week, now getting battered by West Ham. Have to be able to produce the quality to beat teams lower down the table.
