  1. Larne edged out by Imps in first legpublished at 14:25 British Summer Time 24 August 2024

Larne were edged out 2-1 by Lincoln Red Imps in the Uefa Conference League play-off first leg at Estadio Algarve on Thursday.

Matty Lusty put the Irish League side in front on 15 minutes when VAR ruled the ball had crossed the line after his long-range strike crashed against the underside of the crossbar.

The hosts were soon level with Kike Gomez slotting in before Joe fired home the winner three minutes before the break.

Larne are aiming to become the first Irish League team to reach the group stage of a major European competition.

  2. 'It's a stepping stone to bigger and better things'published at 14:23 British Summer Time 24 August 2024

    Radio Ulster analyst Curtis Allen

Maybe he [David Healy] just wants a change.

No disrespect to Raith Rovers, but you would think Linfield would be the bigger club especially with the European matches and things that you have the ability to get into.

If he can go there and do a really good job and get them into the Premiership I suppose it's a stepping stone to bigger and better things, the Championship in England or the Premiership if he did really well.

  5. Could this be David Healy's last game in charge of Linfield?published at 14:07 British Summer Time 24 August 2024

Linfield have confirmed they have received an approach from Scottish Championship side Raith Rovers to speak to Blues manager David Healy.

It is still expected that Northern Ireland's record men's goalscorer will be in the Windsor Park dugout when his side host Loughgall this afternoon.

Rovers are on the hunt for a new boss following the dismissal of Ian Murray.

Healy, whose current deal at Windsor Park runs until 2025, became Linfield boss in October 2015.

Since then, he has won the league title five times, a pair of Irish Cups, three League Cups and one County Antrim Shield.

Little surprise he's a man in demand, then.
