Archie Collins' goal was his first in the league this season
Archie Collins' screamer gave Peterborough a 1-0 win over fellow strugglers Burton.
Collins struck from the edge of the box in the 65th minute to earn Posh a first win in three league games despite Tom Lees being dismissed late on.
Burton dominated the first half against a Peterborough side that went into the game propping up the table.
And the Brewers thought they should have had a penalty when ex-Burton man Thomas O'Connor appeared to handle Jake Beesley's header but referee Elliot Bell waved play on.
Tyrese Shade had Albion's best chance but could only fire straight at Alex Bass in the Peterborough goal, while skipper Udoka Godwin-Malife saw his towering header comfortably claimed by the goalkeeper as half-time loomed.
Peterborough offered little in the first half but were much brighter after the break and went ahead when Collins rifled in an unstoppable rising drive from the edge of the box.
Posh were reduced to 10 men in the 81st minute when Lees was shown a second yellow card for a clumsy challenge on Charlie Webster, but the visitors held firm to close to within two points of their opponents.
