Dan Creaney struck six minutes into time added on as Tamworth beat AFC Fylde 2-1 to claim a third successive National League win.

After a goalless first half, Tamworth would not be denied two minutes into the resumption as Tom McGlinchey drove into the box before curling beyond Ben Winterbottom and into the net.

Winterbottom saved well from Kai Williams and, at the other end, Fylde came close to a leveller through Charlie Jolley, whose cross-cum-shot caught the outside of a post with Jasbir Singh scrambling.

However, Luke Fairlamb’s clumsily pushed Danny Ormerod in the area, allowing Haughton to step up and convert a 66th-minute spot-kick, which looked like it would be enough for a share of the spoils.

But deep into stoppage time, Creaney headed home from Tom Tonks’ long-range throw-in to give Tamworth all three points.
