BBC Sport women’s football news reporter at St Mary's Stadium
I spoke to Sarina Wiegman and Aggie Beever-Jones one-to-one before the media conference for BBC Radio 5 Live.
Wiegman was reflecting on what an incredible year it's been for the Lionesses and her excitement for 2026.
She described the Euros as "insane" and said we often forget to "have fun" - but she certainly did.
She's already eager to get the 2027 Women's World Cup qualification process underway too.
Beever-Jones said it had been a big year for her personally in terms of her growth on the pitch but also off it.
She hopes to use this final 'homecoming' game against Ghana as a chance to impress and take pride in wearing the England shirt.

Sarina Wiegman on introducing goalkeeper Ellie Roebuck into the squad: "We know Ellie very well from the set up but we haven't seen that much from her because she came late in the week.
"With Khiara [Keating] not being available, we wanted an experienced goalkeeper. She has played some but not all minutes at Aston Villa, but we know what she brings and how she fits our style of play.
"It is nice to have her, she has had one training session and she looked very good."
England v Ghana (Tues, 19:00 GMT)
England
Sarina Wiegman on introducing young players into the squad: "There's a couple of things that help them. In the under-23s, we have a very similar setup and the daily things and routines are similar so it's easier to come in to this environment.
"It is also to do with the group - of course they have to cope with the high standards and show the levels, but off the pitch the team are welcoming and try to help new players feel comfortable."
England v Ghana (Tues, 19:00 GMT)
England
Sarina Wiegman on the prospect of facing Ghana, and the importance of the match for women's football in Africa: "As we say all the time, the women's game is growing. Here in England, we are a trailblazer too.
"It is an opportunity for [Ghana] and I hope it gets a lot of attention in Africa. [The growth of women's football] cannot go fast enough for me."
England v Ghana (Tues, 19:00 GMT)
England
Sarina Wiegman on facing Ghana for the first time, could it be more than eight goals?
"It's a nice way to think that way but we played a very good game against China and we were really ruthless. That's something we wanted to do, get the final pass right and create big chances and core goals. We did that really well on Saturday and scoring three goals in 12 minutes helps with that. That says a lot about us and how we started the game.
"Tomorrow will be a totally different game with two different styles of play. Ghana have a clear structure how they want to play, they have some pace and we have to be aware of rotation.
"I don't think it will be that easy. I hope we make it easy by playing well but we'll see what happens."
England v Ghana (Tues, 19:00 GMT)

England forward Aggie Beever-Jones on performance on Saturday:
"Coming away from the game, it was a great performance, 8-0 at Wembley and a great team performance. We showed some really good qualities. We had eight or nine chances and got eight goals.
"It's an exciting time to play a non-European team, we've never played them before.
"For me it's nice being in Southampton, my family are nearby. It's nice to get a different calibre of people and fans and to have 25,000 fans and hopefully more fans on the day."
England v Ghana (Tues, 19:00 GMT)
England
Sarina Wiegman on whether she sees Alessia Russo as a future England captain:
"You saw a lot of players wearing the armband on Saturday because we made some subs.
"We have a lot of leaders in the group, different characters who lead in a different way. Alessia has stepped up and she is one of the more experienced players in the group now and she's taken on that role really well.
"I'm not looking that far in the future because I don't think that's necessary but it says enough that she wore he armband and she's stepping up which I really appreciate."
England v Ghana (Tues, 19:00 GMT)
England
Sarina Wiegman on Grace Fisk injury:
"She was really enjoying herself and unfortunately she has picked up a small injury. That's disappointing, mainly for her. That's the way it is but it's good she had the whole week in camp and got to experience that.
"I hope she gets through it quickly and will be available for Liverpool soon."

Abbie Beever-Jones also spoke highly of team mate Lucia Kendall: "Firstly, she is a lovely girl. She came into the set-up and has acted like herself which is so refreshing. I have grown up with her in the under-23s.
"To get player of the match on your debut isn't a bad start to your England career! She is a really sweet girl who is growing into herself tremendously.
"It is great to see the pathway and how it's continuing to bring girls into the environment. Hopefully they know we are here to help them if they need it.
"It's nice for Lucia to come to where she started her career at Southampton. It is a full-circle moment for her."
England v Ghana (Tues, 19:00 GMT)
England
England boss Sarina Wiemgna on Lucia Kendall:
"I think she's doing really well. It's gone fast how she's developed, going to Aston Villa and competing really well that's why we selected her. She's competing for more minutes and shows consistency too. People think that's really easy but the demands are high in camp so to do that and go back to club and perform so well.
"I'm happy with performances and I think she's enjoying herself too.
"We have conversations with clubs all the time and we saw her performances were good."
England v Ghana (Tues, 19:00 GMT)

Aggie Beever-Jones reflects on 2025: "If you said to me this time last year that this is what would have happened, I probably wouldn't have believed you.
"The season we had at Chelsea, coming into the Euros and getting called up and winning it. It was an incredible year and one of the best years I've had in football, for sure."
England v Ghana (Tues, 19:00 GMT)
England
Aggie Beever-Jones on how things have changed for her in camps over the years:
"When I first came in I was the new one so I was a bit nervous and wanted to impress but I have loved my time in the set up so far.
"Hopefully I've showed people what I can do and I'm looking to build on that. I still see myself as a young player and it's the environment I want to be in. I look at people like Alessia [Russo] and she's one of the best strikers in the world and she's such great competition.
"I feel very lucky but I feel I can hold myself in training and push for more game time. I love being here and playing for England, it's the greatest honour."
England v Ghana (Tues, 19:00 GMT)
England
England forward Aggie Beever-Jones was asked about the importance of playing for her country, even in a friendly match: "Playing for England is one of the greatest honours and every time I get the chance I want to show people what I can do and give Sarina [Wiegman] the right kind of headaches. Every player wants to play for England and wants to take the opportunity.
"It just shows the calibre of player we have that every player is world-class and ready to perform."
England v Ghana (Tues, 19:00 GMT)
England
England forward Aggie Beever-Jones on scoring for England:
"I love playing and scoring but I've always said it's not as easy as being a striker and putting the ball in the back of the net. It's about the team and helping the team where I can.
"Sometimes people have this thing of me scoring goals but I'm just trying to do what I can to help the team and everything will fall into place. Scoring is one of the best feelings in the world so hopefully I can do what I can."
England v Ghana (Tues, 19:00 GMT)
England
With her current contract set to expire after the World Cup, Sarina Wiegman was asked about the prospect of signing a new deal: "We all know that we have until 2027. We haven't had any clear conversations but I'm still really enjoying the job and I think the team is still enjoying that I am around. Let's see what the future will bring."
Are you relaxed about it? "I am very relaxed. I don't look forward and plan my career, I just know what I really enjoy and I want things to fit."
England v Ghana (Tues, 19:00 GMT)
England
England boss Sarina Wiegman on where this year ranks in favourite years:
"Hard question, I will say it has been an incredible year with the journey of how the season started with the team getting prepared for the Euros.
"The camps we had from February to the tournament and it was an incredible tournament. On the pitch I feel it was insane how the games unfolded but off the pitch it was really calm.
"I think I enjoyed it more than the tournaments I have been in before, the experience and the team was so calm.
"I like having these friendlies to connect with the fans, 75,000 on Saturday and tomorrow also 25,000 tickets sold. That's incredible and I don't take that for granted."
England v Ghana (Tues, 19:00 GMT)
England
Sarina Wiegman being back at St Mary's, the ground which she managed her first match for the Lionesses: "Time flies! That first game feels like ages ago but I still have a good memory of that. It was a nice start to England. It is nice to be back."
England v Ghana (Tues, 19:00 GMT)
England
England manager Sarina Wiegman on managing player minutes:
"Always connection with [club] managers, always calls before and after camp. I am very aware of schedule. We'll make some changes tomorrow but also we don't have that many chances to play and play friendlies. After this camp we only have eight more to go into World Cup and we need to qualify first.
"We want to use time in camp as much as possible."
