  2. World Cup qualifiers up nextpublished at 10:39 GMT

After tomorrow evening, sterner tests await England with World Cup qualification starting in March 2026 and that includes a double-header against world champions Spain.

The first of those is at Wembley in April.

England have also been drawn against Iceland and Ukraine in Group A3.

Qualifying for the 2027 World Cup, which will be held in Brazil, follows the same format as the Nations League and is split into three tiers.

Only the four group winners in League A will automatically qualify for the finals, with the remaining teams having to go through the play-offs for the remaining eight places.

St Mary's was the venue of Sarina Wiegman's first match in charge of the Lionesses back in 2021.

They won 8-0 against North Macedonia, much weaker opposition at the time, and a lot has changed since then.

But Wiegman said last week she was looking forward to returning here to end the year and I'm sure she would take another 8-0 win!

  4. Moorhouse's dream debutpublished at 10:32 GMT

There was, however, a debut for goalkeeper Anna Moorhouse.

Hannah Hampton's thigh injury opened the door for a less experienced keeper to step in with Orlando Pride's Moorhouse given the nod and Brighton's uncapped Sophie Baggaley on the bench.

A clean sheet with China managing just 0.33 expected goals and two shots on target was a dream debut for the 30-year-old.

Who will get the nod against Ghana?

Manchester City's Khiara Keating has been ruled out after suffering a small groin injury leaving Ellie Roebuck as Wiegman's third option.

  6. Missed opportunity for England?published at 10:27 GMT

A Georgia Stanway hat-trick, a Beth Mead brace and further goals from Ella Toone, Alessia Russo and Lauren Hemp made for an entertaining evening for Lionesses supporters on Saturday.

But in such a one-sided match, how much can Sarina Wiegman really learn about her side?

Wiegman opted not to use the match to experiment with her squad and instead it was the tried and tested players who delivered on the scoresheet.

    Was it a missed opportunity?

    St Mary's Stadium

It's very wet and gloomy in Southampton but England are full of confidence following their 8-0 win over China on Saturday.

They are finishing what has been another successful year - with another European title - with a rare test against Ghana.

Sarina Wiegman was perhaps cautious with her selection on the weekend, naming a strong attacking and midfield line-up, though there was a new look in defence, largely forced by injury.

Will she hand a few more debuts today or give more minutes to some of England's youngsters such as Lucia Kendall and Aggie Beever-Jones.

Chelsea forward Beever-Jones is joining Wiegman in the media conference so I'm sure she'll be asked about it.

  9. 2025 ending in style...published at 10:18 GMT

It has been a 2025 to remember for England with retirements, breakout stars and more ups and downs than the Big Dipper.

From Mary Earps and Fran Kirby calling time on their international careers just a few months before England began their title defence in Switzerland to Millie Bright opting to sit out the tournament.

From Michelle Agyemang and Hannah Hampton to, of course, Chloe Kelly.

All leading up to that dramatic final against Spain where England stunned the continent to retain their title in a penalty shootout against the world champions.

England signed off the year at their Wembley home with that 8-0 thrashing over China and will hope they can put in a similar ruthless performance against Ghana in their final match of the year.
