Jude Arthurs celebrates after scoring Bromley's second goal with an acrobatic overhead kick from a long throw into the box

Bromley extended their unbeaten run to 12 matches in League Two with an impressive win at Gillingham.

The Ravens totally dominated the first half to lead 2-0 at the break through goals from Louis Dennis and Jude Arthurs.

Gills manager Mark Bonner made a triple substitution at half-time and the resurgent hosts spent much of the second period camped in the Bromley half.

But Kamarl Grant tapped in the visitors' third of the game with 14 minutes left on the clock before Elliott Nevitt blazed a penalty kick high over the crossbar for Gillingham, who were consigned to their third defeat in a row.

The home side made a bright start and almost took an early lead when Timothee Dieng's blocked shot fell to his midfield partner Ethan Coleman, who shot wide.

That was about as good as it got for the hosts in the opening half, as Bromley took the lead soon after.

Gills keeper Glenn Morris parried Arthurs' shot from a tight angle straight to Dennis for the finish.

And on 26 minutes they were 2-0 up through former Gills youth player Arthurs' acrobatic overhead kick from a long throw into the box.

Top scorer Michael Cheek headed over and Morris kept his side in the game to deny Idris Odutayo what would probably have been a result-securing third goal for the visitors soon before half-time.

The second half was a complete reverse as Gillingham upped the tempo of their passing and began to test the Bromley backline, with Ravens keeper Grant Smith making a fine save to deny Josh Andrews.

But Grant's cool finish from Corey Whiteley's cross secured the points against the run of play and took the sting out of any fightback from the hosts.

There was still time for Gillingham to secure a consolation as they won a penalty kick for a foul on Andrews, but Nevitt's smash over the top completed a miserable night for the home side.
