Goals in the space of five second-half minutes from Daniel O'Reilly and Alex Samuel sealed a dramatic comeback victory for Partick Thistle over Airdrieonians.

Danny Lennon has now lost both matches since taking over as Airdrieonians manager and they are still searching for a first Championship win this season.

Thistle have 10 points from their five league matches and are level with leaders St Johnstone, Raith Rovers and Arbroath before the weekend's fixtures.

Partick Thistle manager Mark Wilson tells BBC Scotland: "The game was drifting and when our bench is stronger with the quality we've now added, it gives me that option.

"It was good to freshen it up and they certainly made a difference.

"We kept believing in what we were doing and we were much better in the second period. They are a dynamic team and they can hurt you, but we made too many unforced errors in the first half.

"Alex Samuel gives his all and he made a difference when he came on. It shows the spirit in the squad that we pushed on and won it.

"We've got a really tight unit and that got us over the line."

Airdrieonians midfielder Cole McKinnon has been talking to BBC Scotland: "We started the game really well. We were hurting them and the last 15 minutes is where they get their two goals - we need to be more disciplined and more compact.

"It was a good game, but we need to see it out a lot better.

"I've been here now for two weeks. My fitness levels are good and I feel I can be a lot better. It's about blowing the cobwebs off, but I'm gutted about tonight."

Partick Thistle match-winner Alex Samuel tells BBC Scotland: "It was a good old-fashioned toe-poke.

"It kind of typified the game - it wasn't pretty but it got the job done.

"I've loved every second being here, it's an amazing team environment.

"Even when we haven't played well this season, we've dug in. We did that tonight and got the three points."
