St Johnstone's winning start to life in the Scottish Championship came to an end as they were held to a draw by Morton at McDiarmid Park.

Eamonn Brophy's wonder goal had Dougie Imrie's side ahead after 22 minutes, as the Scotland cap rocketed an effort into the top corner from 30 yards.

Simo Valakari's side avoided defeat late on though, with Josh McPake scoring what has become a trademark goal for him - cutting inside from the left and firing low past the keeper.

It's the first time the Saints have dropped points following their relegation from the Premiership, but they remain top of the table. Morton have drawn all four games so far.
