Hibernian struck late to win the season's second SWPL Edinburgh derby and dent Hearts' title push.
Substitute Rosie Livingstone finished with nine minutes left amid unsuccessful appeals that she was offside in the Hearts box.
Earlier, Kathleen McGovern could not get enough purchase on her shot after being set up by Abbie Ferguson and Linzi Taylor also drew a save from Hearts goalkeeper Rachael Johnstone.
McGovern's header was deflected wide by Hearts' Eilidh Shore and Kirsten Reilly was unable to make a clean connection in front of goal as Hibs maintained their attacking intent towards half-time.
The hosts, having won the previous Edinburgh derby 4-0, could not impose themselves on the game
And Hibs led when Ferguson's replacement Livingstone received the ball off Stacy Papadopoulos' partially blocked shot and slotted past Johnstone as the home players claimed in vain for a flag.
Eva Olid's Hearts end the weekend four points off leaders City and three behind Rangers. Grant Scott's Hibs move above Celtic on goal difference into fourth and are a point behind their city rivals.
