This will be the first ever meeting between Barnsley and Stevenage in the top four tiers of English football.
Stevenage have won on just one of their last 10 trips to Yorkshire and the Humber (D3 L6), with their last league win in the region coming against Doncaster Rovers in October 2022.
After scoring just 47 league goals in 2022, Barnsley have netted 88 goals in 2023. They have only ever scored more goals in one year in their history, netting 98 in 1934.
Stevenage have won 11 of their first 22 League One games this season – they are the first newly promoted side at this level to have as many wins at this stage since the now Premier League side Luton Town in 2018-19 (13 wins).
