After their 1-0 win on New Year’s Day this year, Crewe could enjoy back-to-back Football League wins over Tranmere for the first time since September 2002 (run of 3).
The away side has lost each of the last seven Football League meetings between Crewe and Tranmere, with Rovers losing their last three such visits and winless in their last nine (D2 L7) since a 2-0 victory in October 1999.
Crewe Alexandra have scored 28 goals in their first 12 league matches this season, more than any other team in England’s top four tiers, despite 18 other teams having a higher xG than theirs (17.45).
After losing seven of their first eight League Two matches this season, Tranmere Rovers have since lost just one of their last four (W2 D1) and if they avoid defeat to Crewe Alexandra, it will be the first time they’ve gone three matches unbeaten in the league since April.
