Boss Dario Vidosic said "it is a nice reflection of the programme" to have three Brighton players called-up to the senior England squad for the first time.

Midfielder Maisie Symonds received her first senior call-up for the upcoming games against Belgium, Fran Kirby returned to the squad and Nikita Parris was also called-up.

"It is a nice reflection of the program to have three current Lionesses and many other nationalities coming from the club," he said. "It's more credit to the girls for the hard work they put in and its deserved.

"I got the call from Sarina to let me know and when she mentioned Maisie as well you're even more excited because it's a maiden call-up.

"We're all very happy for her. She said she has been very emotional and crying. It shows what it means and I know what it means when you get that phone call. That first one is one you never forget. I know the meaning and the weight it carries when you get to represent your country."

Dario Vidosic makes two changes from the Brighton side who were beaten 3-2 by Leicester in the league last weekend.

Rachel McLauchlan and Marisa Olislagers drop to the bench, while Kiko Seike and Marit Auee come in.

They are the only three players who drop out from the side who were beaten 3-0 in the Champions League by Chelsea on Thursday.

Naomi Layzell, Jess Park and Laura Coombs come into the starting XI to replace them.

Everton should have taken the lead and caught Manchester United napping. They were ready to pounce.

There has been some good stuff from Everton but ultimately United got the lead and have dominated.

Liverpool tasted defeat for the first time under Amber Whiteley last weekend, as Arsenal dispatched them 4-0 at the Emirates Stadium.

Interim manager Whiteley will be keen to return to winning ways, and if Liverpool do, they will have won four WSL home games in a row for the first time since October 2014, the season they last won the WSL title.

Everton started brightly and a little bit higher up the pitch. They have given it to United and United have got more and more control over it.

I am expecting a bigger half from Everton in the second half.

Really good play from United there.

Beautifully worked and a really good touch from Clinton and a great save from Brosnan.

Then after from Le Tissier, great strike and it smashes against the bar.

And breathe. After more than 52 minutes, referee Phoebe Cross finally blows the whistle for half-time.

Now that would have been a cracking goal. Maya Le Tissier tries her luck from 20 yards out and she hits it sweetly, rattling the crossbar.

Oooh. That was a real chance for Celin Bizet but Courtney Brosnan redeems herself with a superb save, getting down low to stop the shot nestling in the bottom left corner.

Yikes. That was very nearly another blunder from Courtney Brosnan.

Her pass out from the back falls to Grace Clinton, but she can't get enough on the shot before Everton's defence retreat.

Katja Snoeijs takes a nasty fall, flying over the top of Maya Le Tissier.

Celin Bizet goes down at the other end, but she's back up on her feet and fine to continue, while Snoeijs walks gingerly to the sidelines.

There's bits of rubbish floating all around the pitch on a windy afternoon at Leigh Sports Village. That must get annoying for the players.

Everton started the game so well because they were higher up the pitch. There is now a massive gap between the midfield and the defence and United are just able to exploit it.

Toni Payne sprints past Maya Le Tissier and into the box. There's a bit of a push from the Manchester United skipper on Payne, but the referee sees nothing wrong and it's Le Tissier who eventually draws the foul to kill Everton's charge forward.

United did well to work the ball back round into the central area. Terland just peels off the defender with ease and Brosnan has to be on her toes to get there before her.

That's a clever ball from Hinata Miyazawa to break through Everton's defensive lines and play Elisabeth Terland through on goal, but Courtney Brosnan races off her line to smother any effort from the Norway international.

Manchester United are already 11 points better off than they were at this point last season.

If they can keep this lead and get another three points today, that will be a huge step in solidifying their position in the top three and boosting their chances of Champions League football next season.

Apart from the goal, Manchester United's chances have been far and few between.
