Dougie Imrie was absent, with Billy Davies taking charge of Morton
Billy Davies took charge of Greenock Morton instead of manager Dougie Imrie as they opened the Scottish Championship season with a goalless draw at home to Dunfermline Athletic.
The Cappielow club announced an hour before kick-off that Imrie "will not be in the dugout today due to a private matter".
Former Motherwell, Preston North End, Derby County and Nottingham Forest boss Davies was appointed Morton's technical head coach three weeks ago but took charge of a side for the first time since 2014.
Morton gave an immediate debut to 34-year-old forward Michael O'Halloran a debut against the side he left this summer.
However, after an even first half, it was the visitors who had the better of the chances only to be denied by home goalkeeper James Storer.
