Beth Lumsden scored twice as Newcastle beat local rivals Sunderland in front of a record crowd for a women's second-tier match.
A crowd of 15,387 gathered inside the Stadium of Light, beating the previous record of 11,137, set when Sheffield United played London City in November 2022.
Magpies forward Lumsden opened the scoring in the 28th minute after cutting inside to finish past Demi Lambourne.
Four minutes into the second half, Lumsden doubled the lead for the visitors by scoring directly from an inswinging corner.
Emily Scarr gave the home side hope by halving the deficit with 12 minutes remaining, before Jenna Dear wasted a great opportunity to level.
Newcastle boss Becky Langley said: "The fans are unbelievable, the numbers they come in, home and away, and when we saw the end packed out with Geordies today, I said, 'we are playing for those fans', because we know how much the Tyne-Wear derby means to the fans."
Sunderland manager Mel Reay said: "It was an unbelievable atmosphere. Hopefully the fans enjoyed it and they'll come back. The fans roared the team on and it gives you extra motivation."
The win means Newcastle sit sixth in the Women's Championship while Sunderland remain eighth.
