GOAL: Wigan 0-1 Wycombepublished at 15:14 Greenwich Mean Time 9 November

    Joe Low (11 mins)

The first win at the Latics home ground is on for our league leaders.

Joe Low, with plenty of space to launch off the ground, gets his head onto Dan Harvie's whipped corner and gives the team at the top an early lead.

  2. Postpublished at 15:13 Greenwich Mean Time 9 November

    Birmingham 0-0 Northampton

Quiet start at St Andrew's with the hosts on top without creating too much.

Seung-Ho Paik has raced down the left and pulled back into the mixer where Alfie May fluffed his attempt. Let off for the Cobblers.

  3. Injurypublished at 15:13 Greenwich Mean Time 9 November

    Gillingham 0-0 Port Vale

Not much to talk about so far except for a couple of injuries- one for each side.

Gills striker Jacob Wakeling and Vale keeper Connor Ripley have gone down but they should be good to continue Geoff.

  4. CLOSE!published at 15:12 Greenwich Mean Time 9 November

    Peterborough 0-0 Cambridge United

Liam Bennett's been in decent form for Cambridge and it's his cross which Jordan Cousins brings down on the edge of the box for the visitors, only to lash over on the half-volley.

  5. GREAT SAVE!published at 15:09 Greenwich Mean Time 9 November

    Peterborough 0-0 Cambridge United

First real attempt of the day in the Cambridgeshire derby as the visitors' Dan Nlundulu draws a decent save from Posh stopper Nicholas Bilokapic low at his near post.

The Us have made the brighter start...

  6. Postpublished at 15:08 Greenwich Mean Time 9 November

    Wigan 0-0 Wycombe

Wigan have only lost two of their past 13 league games at the Brick Community Stadium.

Nine of those dozen plus one ended in clean sheets and so far, they are keeping the league leaders quiet.

    Walsall v Crewe (15:00 BST)

    Michael Beardmore
BBC Sport at Poundland Bescot Stadium

Fair to say that we can expect a pretty tight contest here on a very crisp, classically autumnal November afternoon in the West Midlands (floodlights on at 14:30 GMT!).

Not only do just two points and three places separate the two sides - Walsall in second, Crewe in fifth - there's recent history to take into account too.

Seven of Crewe's past 10 visits to Bescot have ended honours even - one to stick an 'X' next to on the pools coupon (if those still exist)?

Right, with the battle at the bottom wrapped up, it's time to look at the top.

Will Wycombe or Birmingham be number one at the close of play today over in League One?

And in League Two, can Walsall hold onto their place in second or will the madness of the season continue as the deck sees yet another shuffle?

    Let the games begin.

  10. 'Standing ovation'published at 14:58 Greenwich Mean Time 9 November

Standing ovation at St Andrew's as members of the Royal Navy proceed to the centre circle.

They unfurl a huge banner bearing the club badge and giant poppy. The names of former Birmingham City players who lost their lives in conflict is also on display.

The decibels increase as the match ball is delivered – by a soldier abseiling from The Tilton stand.

Lincoln City could sail into fourth if they take all three points from their trip to Bristol Rovers but, also in-form and in position to steal the spot is Bolton Wanderers, who visit Stockport County.

Stevenage will want to stop the rot as they host Reading, while Exeter City are also on a bad run and will want to turn it around, but will be against a Charlton side who are likely sick of draws having had their last three games end with a single point and will come out determined to pick up three this time out.

Meanwhile, Crawley Town are seeking distance from the bottom of the table but will need to topple 8th place Huddersfield to do so and the Terriers are flying high on a nice four game unbeaten streak.

    Peterborough v Cambridge (15:00 GMT)

Despite hitting a rich vein of form, Cambridge United probably head across Cambridgeshire for the derby at Peterborough more in hope than expectation due to the weight of history.

Posh have bossed this rivalry in recent years, winning six and drawing three of the past 10 meetings, and keeping clean sheets in five of the past six - including last season's 5-0 romp in this fixture, the most one-sided on record.

The Us have kept just one clean sheet in their 17 league visits to London Road and have lost the past six times they have visited Posh, who are also unbeaten in five at home overall, though both sides have scored in each of those games.

Garry Monk’s men do have a spot of form, however, picking up a 2-0 win at Stevenage in their most recent away game to win for the first time in nine on the road and have won five in a row in all competitions - the past three of them 1-0.

Posh boss Darren Ferguson is keen to play down the significance of the derby and admitted they are having to try to outscore opponents at present.

Monk is preparing for his first derby and says he is ready for anything.

    Wigan v Wycombe (15:00 GMT)

Wycombe's impressive start to the season has left boss Matt Bloomfield feeling prideful.

They've only lost one single game in 17 matches - that was to Premier League side Aston Villa in the Carabao Cup - and have added up six successive league wins to rise to the peak of the League One table, displacing big spenders Birmingham City who are level on points with 29.

It's dazzling to watch but to keep their winning streak alive, they will need to complete a task they've not yet conquered - beat Wigan Athletic on an away expedition.

The Chairboys have made nine attempts in the past and have come out empty handed in all of them.

Though the Lactics will be approaching the game with caution, having lost against Wycombe in their last meeting and have bolstered their defence with former Newcastle defender Paul Dummett in time to host the league leaders.

  14. Cobblers line up for 'ultimate test' at Bluespublished at 14:55 Greenwich Mean Time 9 November

    Birmingham v Northampton (15:00 GMT)

Northampton manager Jon BradyImage source, Rex Features

This is just the fifth league meeting between Blues and the Cobblers, and the first since March 1990, a time when Margaret Thatcher was in No10, Nelson Mandela was enjoying his first month of freedom and Madonna was preparing to release Vogue.

Blues have won both previous home games against Northampton by a combined 7-0 – with a near six-decade long gap between the first and this third meeting.

Chris Davies’ side have won their past five games at St Andrew's and are seeking to make it six wins in a row at home for the first time since October 2000.

Jon Brady’s Town side have conceded in a dozen straight games on the road, winning only one of those 12 and earning seven points in total.

Brady says a trip to Blues is 'the ultimate challenge' in the third tier and this should be a fascinating encounter as Birmingham have to respond to losing top-spot to free-scoring Wycombe in midweek.

AFC Wimbledon will be hoping to continue their good form after an excellent 2-0 win over bitter rivals MK Dons on Sunday as they host Grimsby.

Paul Cook's Chesterfield host Accrington Stanley who now sit only two points outside of the relegation zone after this afternoon's results.

Bradford City go to Fleetwood in their hunt to move up the League Two ladder following an inconsistent start and Tranmere host Newport County.

Meanwhile, Colchester United travel up north to Barrow,Cheltenham host Bromley and MK Dons will hope for a reaction to their FA Cup disappointment when they take on Swindon Town.

There’s a big crowd expected at the Bescot Stadium this afternoon, potentially the biggest of the season.

Walsall boss Matt Sadler has asked fans to bring the noise in his recent press conference, while Crewe have sold out their away allocation.

Walsall have only lost at home once this season in league two, but equally the visitors come into the game on a great run: they’ve only lost once in their last 10 league games.

Second-placed Walsall host fifth-placed Crewe in an exciting looking clash at the top of League Two.

The Saddlers early season consistency has shocked most but another impressive performance in their 2-1 victory over League One side Bolton in the FA Cup last Saturday underlined their title credentials.

Crewe's good start to the season has mainly gone under the radar and they will be hoping their defeat to non-league Dagenham and Redbridge last Saturday was just a minor blip.

Crewe boss Lee Bell will be hoping for a reaction to that defeat after previously overseeing five matches unbeaten in the league.

Two heavyweights in League Two clash at the Eco Power Stadium as Notts County make the short journey north to face Doncaster Rovers.

Grant McCann's side are in great form with just one defeat in their last eight games. They picked up great wins against fellow promotion rivals, recently including a 2-1 win away at Bradford City. Kyle Hurst was in great form scoring one and creating the other.

Notts County have also picked up recently and come into this game on a five game unbeaten run, which they will look to extend.

Both sides could move to within one point of leaders Port Vale with victory today and we can expect a cracking game with both these sides who like to play front foot attacking football.

We also have the sub plot of two former Sheffield United strikers and team-mates going against each other: Billy Sharp for Doncaster and his former colleague at Bramall Lane David McGoldrick for Notts County.

Today signals a new beginning at Priestfield as 'the Football League’s worst away end' now has a new sponsor.

Somewhat ironically, the open-air terrace is now supported by a shower screen company.

The hardy Port Vale fans who have made the trip down have the luxury of the sheltered stand so no umbrellas required this afternoon.

The Gills have made a mixed start to their League Two campaign - winning six and losing six of their opening 14 fixtures.

They host League Two pacesetters Port Vale this afternoon at Priestfield looking to get back to winning ways after being beaten in the FA Cup to League One Blackpool last weekend.

Vale will also be looking to bounce back from an FA Cup defeat - a 3-1 loss at home to Barnsley - but their league form is marvellous, winning all of their previous five outings.

They arrive in Kent four points clear of second-placed Walsall who have played a game more.
